The Market

The Market is a Scrapyard that houses several illegal shops that one can get anything from and it is loosely divided in the following way.   The Shadow District The Shadow District has three main shops and half a dozen others of the usual criminal varieties. The Shadow District borders the Flesh Square and the Hellfire and Commander Districts. While the Shadow District is a pile of several astral ships and infernal war machines made from shadowsteel and other dark material. Now the Shadow District is run by three crime lords how all have become rich of their successful ventures. The first shops is named the Ravens Wings which is run by a shadar kai named Lucian Elavarion. This shop sells things from the Shadowfell from the territory of the Raven Queen this includes specific memories. They are also employed in other parts of the Market to cause pain to customers. The second shop is called the First Sister, the woman running it is a Night Hag called Marsha Gutsspiller and she sells things like mist talismans and other things from the domains of dred such as blood from the first vampire or a sample of the gnawing plague. Finally, there is a Necromancer called Ederas Ghosthand. He sells items connected to necromancy and golem creation.   The Flesh Square This is one of the Larger areas of the Market since it borders the Maze and the Shadow and Commander Districts. Now despite all its size, not many businesses are here for there are only about 14 criminal businesses in this area and all have something to do with slavery whether it is chains and manacles, pens to hold them in or torturing tools. There is even a mage that will cast the Geas spell on slaves and sell scrolls of the same spell. At the centre of this, all is the famous Flesh Square. This is a square where hundreds of slaves are sold every day and it attracts all sort of attention from races how trade in the same "goods." Some of the races that come here are Mind Flayers (disguised), drow, duregar, some types of genies and many more. This is finally run by a cabal of three Rhakshasa brothers. They have built an empire of slaves trading and other criminal activities across Isildur and they have only managed it by working together instead of fighting for dominance. They are three silent princes across Isildur that dominate the slave trade across it all.   The Hellfire District This is the largest district and it is also the largest concentration of Infernal war machines here they are even on sale. Now, these infernal shops also lie in the Maze where most of the fighting happens between the fiends here and the Fey Lord Kithor. Despite this, the shops also fight one another for dominance and if they would only band together they could kill Kithor.  There are four interesting shops in this area. The largest is called the Flame Wheel and it is run by an Arcanaloth how has many different yugaloths that sea to his shop while he studies arcane tomes having left the hunting grounds of Avernus. He is also willing to exchange soul coins for other treasure. Now another shop is run by a pair of Gratz cambion twins. They run a forgery shop and are one of the best. They also have in their possession madcaps and other demons in a decrepit astral vessel called the Twins Seal. Another Shop is named the Second sister and it is run by a Night Hag how deals in the trade of souls. She has found a way to turn mortal souls that are dead into larva however this seems to not be optimal to do. Many however still want this secret and even her sisters are unaware of how the ritual works. Now the final shop is called the Hammers Fire and it is a blacksmiths shop with a fire giant as its smith and multiple salamanders and fire snakes that help around in the forge. There are also 18 other shops in this area.   The Lords Grove This is the smallest of all the areas and it is where the fey lord Kithor Half Blade spends his days as its ruler. He is a banished fey lord however his servants are still able to fetch things for his merchandise consist of things and items from the Feywild. Kithor owns his own shops as he sits safely behind the Maze. Now when he fled the Feywild he took a piece of it with him which he has complete control over and this alone makes him one of the most powerful people here. His own shop here is called Half Blade and it is a sort of general store on the Feywild. Other shops include the Nobels friend run by Leratir Elmane a retired assassin how sells poisons and four other shops here one is a whore house where dryads make their home and the others deal with the Feywild in more specialised ways.   The Commander District The Commander District is in the middle of the Market and where the portal to the Astral Plane is located. This is suppose to be where the Githyanki forces are located however they only keep i light guard over the portal giving rise to the most influenchal shop in the Market The Kiss of Desire. This is run by an illusion Archmage named Belathor Arevar. He uses his magic to make it seem to his customers they are in a dreamskape of their own choosing. This is also where drugs from across the multiverse can be found. This is a place society puts no restrainet on you and know sin is to bad to be done. This has several succubi and inncubi as staff members however they also rent their flesh to any how desires it. It is truly a house of deprivaty.   The Maze This is an area that is extremely full with tyni alleyways in ever twistenig patterns. Here gangs lurk and you can find both hired muscles and assassins in addition to more unsavory individuals. During the time of writing the fiends of the Hellfire District what to kill the fey lord Kithat Half Balde and the Maze is the main fighting ground.

Purpose / Function

The Market was first built as a scrapyard for old Githyanki ship that were sent here to be turned into new armor, weapons and tools. This however changed when a group of rouge Githyanki destroyed the infrastructure that was their and built a hub for travel on the corpse of a dead god. When Vlakith took back the city and the Market she decided to keep it as it was for it brought trade to a far corner of the Astral Sea. This has made the Hollow City a Market worthy of an empire and the Market was left as a scrapheap and were more illegal business was conducted.

Alterations

The main difference is the expansion of the scrapheap so that a new wall had to be built and the Main pile grew bigger with the addition of a Planar Raider to the pile which now serves as Nizars headquarters their were also the addition of many more smaller ships and other infernal war machines.

Architecture

This is a graveyard for mechanical devices though some are still working. The Market has many destroyed infernal war machines and spelljamers and so it is a chaotic streets with scraps of metal cutting those that are not careful.

History

The Market throughout most of history was a scrapheap that the Githyanki controlled until a group of rebals captured it. They were the ones that really built the Market to what it is today however in 843 A.G.F the Hollow City and the Market were again Vlakiths. They decided to keep the city as it was since it was more useful to their empire and dominion over the Astral Plane. The city was again captuerd by a upincomming knight named Nizar Voidshade and was made the cities ruler for his action were he has remained up until present day.

Tourism

Most of those that come to the Hollow city are the legal traders and so have their markets in the city while illegal business is conducted in the Market. Here fiends, night hags and other such creatures gather. Not many people from Isildur and the other humanoid races come here mostly because of the dangerous journey. A coven of Behur Hags guard passage by land to keep business going and the Market has no port to the Gulf of Ice however those ships that do dock are often hunted by a pack of werewolfs that lair in the area.
