Moretis

A disease affecting Trolls near the end of their lives, moretis is a disease in which the troll's flesh becomes stone and melds into the very walls of the caves they inhabit. The cause of this affliction is unknown, and there are no known cures. Trolls up until recently had just accepted that sometimes members of the corpse of their kin would sometimes become a vein of ore, leaving a rudimentary grave site there and moving on or turning it into a minor place of worship, even among other Cavernborn, because they have been honored by the Empyrean to return to earth. However recently nefarious elements within the Cavernborn community has been kidnapping elderly Trolls in the hops of mining their valuable corpses once they have passed.
