Ravenfolk
An Unkindness of Bird Folk
The flutter of a black feather to the ground is reminiscent of a dark omen, its slow fall a mark of something about to happen. Soon the dark cackle of a bird echoes through a quiet forest as the stench of death settles and stretches, covering the ground in a thick blanket of decay. Undead wander here, entering villages, causing chaos, leaving an unkindness in their wake.
The dark feathers of the Ravenfolk and the small birds that they resemble are often seen as a bad omen, but the Ravenfolk have made this their success. Rarely do they have permanent homes, wandering wherever the stench of death draws them, tracking undead things for those that pay in shiny treasures.
Basic Information
Anatomy
All Avians share anatomical traits with Humans with some major differences. Avians have feathers and wings that allow them to fly as well as sharp beaks and talons that allow them to hunt or gather food.
Ravenfolk vary slightly from other Avians as they have larger wings that allow them to fly with extra weight as well as a deep cackling call that is very distinct.

Additional Information
Social Structure
Ravenfolk are a very solitary group, often choosing to live alone or in pairs. As a culture, they rarely have permanent homes and tend towards professions that involve death. Clerics, Paladins, and other spellcasters that often deal with death are common professions for these people.
While Ravenfolk are considered amongst the "fliers" within the Avians, they are often left out of the collective due to being seen as a bad omen. Ravenfolk are rarely seen with other Avians or in large groups unless some event, like a large war, has brought about a meeting.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Ravenfolk have an uncanny ability to detect and follow Undead of any kind. Due to physiology similar to that of a crow or raven, Ravenfolk can smell Undead over long distances and are drawn to such creatures because of their smell. This makes them fantastic Hunters of these types of creatures as well as curious about places like battlefields due to the smells found there.
