Village Shurta

Composition

Manpower

Each village has a group of officers, maybe 50 strong. It's alright because the villages are pretty close to one another.

Equipment

They got suyuf, and some supporting armour, too. Shields maybe. Also, they have maces sometimes. The more qualified ones. To scare people. Or maybe something needs to be destroyed. They can do it!

Vehicles

There are some that ride around on Bicycles, but most are just on foot. They have horses, if they have to get somewhere quick.

Structure

There's a commander-in-chief. And all the others are under him. There are also senior officers, and the 'runt of the litter' officers, the newbies I mean.

Training

There's a police school. You gotta ace it. There's no Ps get Degrees here. Only top people become shurta.

Logistics

Upkeep

There's an admin team, does most of the paperwork. The mayor of each village supports each shurta formation financially.

Recruitment

The recruits must be physically fit - fit as a fiddle. No, more fit. Impossibly fit. Impossibly strong. Preferably tall, also. Well, the quality of the officers depend on how well-off the villages are. They're not all gonna be top-notch. Sometimes the shurta has to make do with what they have.
