Lumberhut

The most eastern city, specialized in resources such as different animal parts (leather, meat, horns etc) and timber. This village is also the only one where Thickethorns live nearby. The city is located in a part of the forest where a lot of the trees are Giant's trees. Tradition and conservatism is a big part of the city's culture.

City Details

-The Elder Counsel   Since a lot of what happens in Lumberhut is based on history and traditions, it makes sense that those in charge are the ones with the most experience. Every three years, one or more people are voted into counsel. Almost every year it's someone greater than 70 years of age, since they possess both the free time and experience. The counsel is quite large, and possesses a lot of knowledge, but change happens quite slowly.     -The Axemen   While Lumberhut technically doesn’t have a military, it's always been a tradition that the strongest lumberjacks of each generation swear an oath to defend their city. Add to this the Wood Giants and hunters and you’ve got as good of a defensive force as any other big city.     -Architecture   In Lumberhut, most houses are in some way integrated into nature. Most houses are built in a kind of triangular, A-shape way, where the three-cornered roof stretches all the way to the ground. A lot of houses are built around the trunks of Giant's threes, some on the ground and some on platforms. All houses are made of wood and some have dirt roofs with grass growing on top.     -Bloodsponge Bridge   A bridge made up of an ancient, giant fallen tree, crossing a river in the middle of Lumberhut. Because the species of the tree is so old, Bloodsponge mushrooms grow on it. These mushrooms are great for tending to open wounds, since they stop the flow of blood. The mushrooms make the bridge smell a bit weird though, but the locals are used to it.     -Woodsman's Treat   A café and bakery located in a giant stump. The café is owned by Pepper Woodbound, a curious girl who uses the basement of her café to craft weapons, as a hobby. The café is popular, especially among adventures who come here for a sweet treat and to share some stories. The walls are covered in plants both on the inside and outside, and it often smells of honey and cinnamon.     -Bloodsponge Inn   An inn near Bloodsponge bridge, where there's always a bunch of kids, wanting to hear stories and songs from the innkeeper Thomas. Aside from the stories, The inn has some delicious stew.
