General history of Inonaa

Inonna was once inhabited by a people called the "Vetopulus'' or the Ancients. The Ancients filled Inonaa with machines and giant buildings as their kingdoms spread. The machines took from the lands without giving anything back and the gods started to get angry at the Ancients, who started to corrupt Inonaa with all their Machines. One day, a king got the idea that not only should they be able to use the powers of nature, but they should also be able to control them. The first thing he did was order the construction of a giant tower, with so much magical power that it could summon the wind at will. But when he had done this, he wanted to build another tower, which could summon all weather. He did this too, but now the weather he summoned seemed violent, and unpredictable, so he wanted to build a final tower, which would give him full control of all wind, rain, and lighting. But the court seer received a message from the gods, saying the king would get punished if he tried to control nature. The king ignored the warning and the tower was built anyway. The following day storms and tornadoes started appearing everywhere, out of the king's control. Then, when a week had passed a giant storm, which is now referred to as the Northern wind swept through Inonaa, ruthlessly destroying everything in its way. Towers fell, farms were devastated and entire cities were wiped out.   A group of people fled to the giant, man-made caves in the mountains and were the only ones who survived. They stayed in the caves for several generations until the group had grown too big to live inside the caves, and some of them ventured to the fields and forests where they started rebuilding civilization. After a generation or two, immigrants came to Inonaa from overseas and helped the survivors build villages and plant food. No one knows where the immigrants came from since the knowledge was lost with time. As the two cultures fused, many of the old kingdom's traditions were forgotten and their languages fused. The people who stayed in the caves swore to watch over the people in Inonaa and make sure no man had the power to do whatever he wanted with a kingdom or anger the gods. They were to see to it that Inonaa was balanced. But after the first people had built up their first cities, explored the wilds and even made their own small villages, hard winds started blowing again. Every now and then, storms blowing in from the cursed middle forced people to take shelter. The wind also brought with them terrible monsters who ravaged the lands. The cities still grew, and small villages kept appearing, but not without strife. Nowadays people live all over Inonaa and the balancers are seen as a myth and only a few people know of their existence. But Inonaa is still full of danger, like monsters from the Cursed Middle, bandits and war between the Great Farmers and Barbarians.
