Once more, the shuttle moved, though this time the engine used muscle-power. At the end of its journey, a faction would be born.

Sometime, some month in the second year, the convicts and ex-shuttle-staff who soon formed the Penitent began preparations to move the shuttle's picked-clean carcass southwest, away from the center of the Jungle's chaos. This was an arduous task, as they had to clear the jungle ahead and lug the tons of twisted steel along by rope and chain.   The process took three years, concluding in the Fall of 5 and leaving a trail of felled timber and toppled ruin-walls behind them. They'd hashed out the organizational system along the way and so were prepared to begin operation the moment the shuttle was in place.
