Personal history
In her youth, Moira trained and fought as a cathar across all of Innistrad. Through her extensive travels, she earned the name "Blackbriar" for her thorny personality and dark outlook on life. However, she found her pessimism and constant paranoia to serve her well, as she came to be a well-respected defensive strategist. While highly regarded by her peers, Moira's military career was marked by alienation from those she worked with. Furthermore, as a career-minded woman, she never pursued marriage or had children.
After many years of successful campaigns, she was asked to "retire" by a ranking officer who took offense to her harsh assessment of his own military career. Therefore, she chose to make her new home as far away from the military and the tiring politics of city life as possible. She found her place in Fallenwreathe, where the humble villagers hailed her as a hero and named her their village leader. Having finally found her true calling, she lives her golden years leading the defenses of the small village.
