Magic

Magic is widely believed to be a form of divine energy given to the world as a way of establishing a connection between the two worlds. Every child's patron/matron god/goddess grants them a spark of magic at birth that grows and strengthens with age and use. Priests and priestesses who worship their matron/patron professionally are typically granted more magical power. This causes the clergy to be a very distinguished and exclusive sect of society. They also possess books of rituals associated with their god, which can be used to perform higher-level magic (I.e enchantments, transmutation, blessings, and holy item creation).

Manifestation

In a study for the crown, it has been discovered that people with higher concentrations of divine energy in them tend to have certain traits associated with their deity. (Ex. progenies of Anubis being calmer and more pessimistic, progenies of Psyche becoming more sensitive and emotional).
