Ungonerith

Art by Equiliari, I do not own this artwork
Ungonerith is a gas giant planet and the fourth planet within the Ozreth Star System. Similar to Jupiter, Ungonerith is mostly made up of helium, hydrogen, and methane elements and has a faint ring system around it made up of dust particles. The planet has had several powerful storms across its surface since its discovery. These storms can last for centuries, with two raging on opposite sites of the planet in the current day. Ungonerith has over 70 moons, most of them being caught objects like asteroids, but 6 can stand as dwarf planets by themselves. Ungonerith's moons of Azharia, Xalnorus, and Irilia have been terraformed into ecumenopolises housing 3-5 billion each.

Localized Phenomena

Ungonerith has had many storms brew within its gaseous clouds. These storms are similar to Jupiter in the Sol Star System, being massive red spots the size of multiple terrestrial planets. These violent storms can last anywhere between 150-600 years and can appear in multiple locations at once. In the current day, Ungonerith has two massive storms raging on opposite sides of the planet and are in the northern and southern hemispheres respectively.

Natural Resources

Ungonerith is made up of mostly helium, hydrogen, and methane elements. A large industry has grown around the harvesting of these elements to be used as fuel for starships as well as the rebuilding of atmospheres on dead or damaged planets. The elements harvested from Ungonerith were instrumental in rebuilding Earth's atmosphere. These elements are gathered by using gas giant refineries. These massive machines hover in the upper atmosphere of the planet, collecting gases before separating them and refining them into useful elements. A smaller cargo ship enters the refinery, collects the materials, then sends these collected gases to their desired location.

History

Ungonerith had yet to be observed by Humans until after the First Imperial War and Humanity's enslavement along with the Brek by the Falmir Imperial Union in 3150 CE. The first colonies on Ungonerith's moon of Azharia were Drahlowith smaller slave colonies and settlements of Humans and Brek. Most enslaved Humans and Brek served as general labor within households on Azharia, Irilia, and Xalnorus. In contrast, the rest served as miners for materials and precious metals on all six main moons and Ungonerith's caught asteroids and meteors.   It would not be until the year 3352 CE that both Humanity and the Brek would lead a slave rebellion across the Falmir Imperial Union. Ungonerith was among the first planets to rebel against the Imperial Union. Azharia and Xalnorus both had mass killings of Drahlo nobility and the storming of their homes and mansions. Many Falmirian architectures were destroyed or burned down to the ground and replaced with Human and Brek designs. Irilia suffered very little in terms of collateral damage, as the revolution there was coordinated by a small group of rebels who attacked the nerve centers of the government instead of a whole population storming important locations.   Eventually, the Imperial Union was driven out of the Ozreth Star System and the former enslaved Humans and Brek now ruled over Ungonerith and its many moons, making Azharia its capital. Azharia, Irilia, and Xalnorus would soon all become ecumenopolis planets housing between 3-5 billion each. Dorilia, Haccars, and Trocinus have decidedly chosen not to turn into ecumenopolises and instead have large nature reserves of alien life along with large-scale megalopolises. Ungonerith today stands as a cultural monument for Humans and Breks alike and is a center for hundreds of industries, including science, art, academia, mining, entertainment, etc.
