IMPERIALIS

IMPERIALIS is a dystopian world set in the year 42 TNR . The New Regime are the current government, which consists of a mere 7 men. These 7 are known as the Intermerata, they are the sons of the First Seven Founding Fathers of The New Regime. There is no Parliament or Royal Family - only The New Regime.   In the days before The New Regime the world was hit with a deadly virus, it is recorded in the old forbidden texts that it claimed the lives of over 5 billion people. This devastating virus is referred to now as Pandeemia. The Pandeemia impacted the world in ways never to have been seen. The destruction lasted over 10 years. Survivors emigrated to the biggest and most habitable land on the planet, knowing that they needed to rebuild. This is when the First Seven Founding Fathers created The New Regime. They had no other choice but to start again. IMPERIALIS became the home everyone learned to respect. For centuries Humans in power were entrusted to protect their planet and they failed miserably with each succession. The New Regime knew that it took more than just one man to lead, took more than one sole decision to make law. They swore to protect IMPERIALS. Previous rulers had ignored the destructive impact of climate change, Pandeemia, wars - each one tore away at civilisation.   The Intermerata learned from Pandeemia that there were people who are essential for our prosperous survival. They created a 5 Tier system which would be the substructure for a fresh beginning. Each Tier has its own Faction name and colour. Choosing to wear the colour is optional, however they immediately convey your status. The Intermerata organised the remaining survivors, who emigrated to IMPERIALIS, into one of the Tiers which best supported their skills. This took many years to stabilize but they did succeed. IMPERIALIS was thriving, for the first time since the Age of Pandeemia. Against all odds Intermerata created a structured solid system which benefited their survival. This era is called The New Regime.    As time continued so did the Intermeratas ever strict rules to maintain the lifestyle they had created. They were scarred from The Pandeemia Age and were forever searching for ways to sustain the safe environment. These rules became law, known as Pandeemia Law. Reminding their citizens that these cautious rules were necessary to avoid another destructive and deadly path. Pandeemia Law became something to fear and could seem excessive but it was their way of life and everyone learned to adopt it. Once you are a citizen of IMPERIALIS you follow Pandeemia Law - no exceptions.   By 42 TNR, each original Founding Father member eventually passed and their eldest sons succeeded into power. Their fathers statues stood boldly outside the Imperia, which was the grand building to where the Intermerata would gather to discuss the importance of IMPERIALIS. They became the next generation for The New Regime.   Life as an IMPERIALIS citizen is not equal for all, it became progressively worse for some. The story follows Effie Ofiran of Tier 5, as she learns the truth about her past and her present.
