Death and your Totem

You are all Immortals, a lucky or unlucky few who do not carry on to the next life, if there even is one.
Every time you Die your character comes back to life near a significant item to you, called your totem. The item is normally something significant to your death, such as the sword that killed you, or a necklace you were wearing when you first died.
Or it can be something significant about your life, such as your favorite pen that your first love gifted you, or your father's compass.   Either Way your totem needs to be something Significant to you, the Gm may allow something secret or hidden that you don't know about yet, but that doesn't take away the fact it is something significant about your life or death.

Every time your character Dies, they are resurrected back in close proximity to the totem days later, their items, equipment, and clothing remain where the body originally died, and they resurrect naked.

If Financially able, keeping your totem in a well stocked guarded place is a good idea, as is keeping it secret from those who might want to do you harm.

You will find those in the Dia Fotizo are very secretive about the location of their totem, with exception to the Kynigos.
On the other hand, if the Totem is portable, keeping it nearby could be handy, E.G. You are in southern France when you die, and since you decided to bring your totem from Egypt with you, you now resurrect in southern France instead of Egypt. who Knows how long it would have taken you to get back.
Pros and cons of wearing your totem or having a party member keep it.   Pro: IF you die you resurrect in the same area, not losing any time traveling to get back.
You know it's exact location, and know it wasn't discovered or stolen.
You can do nifty things with it, like pass it through steel bars blocking you path, then killing yourself so you get to the other side.     Cons: If you die by falling into a dark and empty pit with it. you respawn wherever it landed.
If you get eaten with it. you then resurrect right near the thing that ate you naked.
You and your gear get captured by an enemy- that is potentially eternal imprisonment.
