Illma

Dubari was the emperor of Illma the dominant empire in the region, one day he disappeared from the capital and left a message to all his descendants. "I will watch over you my children from afar. When the 3 moons of Diemos align a path will guide you to me. If you are worthy, I will give you my treasure which depending on your choice it may grant you infinite riches and possibilities. Seek me out when you are ready". Crown prince Renza took the throne and demanded the scholar's of the court to decipher the whereabouts of the late emperor. In Renza's mind since he is now emperor, all treasures under the sky should be his and one of his concern about the message was the part that his father is still watching. If the treasure can really grant infinite riches and possibilities then his father can practically replace him with someone else. He begins to grow suspicious of his brothers who may be eyeing for the throne. The scholar's worked day and night, some of the many problems they encountered was that there is only 2 moons in the sky and they have no idea who Diemos was, Diemos is not even the god of the moon. At first Renza was enjoying his new found power and started living a life of decadence, enjoying the many luxuries of life. As time went on, what started off as irritation turned into paranoia. He started executing scholars saying they were colluding with the other princes to usurp his throne and even locked down the capital preventing anyone with royal blood from leaving. More and more intellectuals were being summoned to the capital to fill the void in the research team. As years go by he started executing his own relatives which severely weakened the royal faction. They spent many years trying to find the late emperor's treasure, but found nothing. As time went by, the empire's resources dwindled as they were wasted in fruitless endeavours and local unrest began to build from the mismanagement of the empire. Outside of the capital local lords attempted to profit from the distracted upper nobles and went to strengthen their own power base. Unhindered for many years, their strength and connections grows, some now even covet for the throne. On the first year of the Chaotic Era recorded by modern historians, the empire of Illma sundered into 12 petty kingdoms as lords began to openly declare independence. The Royal family and loyal nobles stood no chance, they were too weak and had no strength to oppose this rebellion. Emperor Renza was killed and his head displayed at the main gate of the capital. Dubari's lineage was hunted down and butchered to prevent any restoration attempts.   On year CE 305 (current timeline), the country is still not united and the treasure has still not been found. Over the year's the lords have fought amongst themselves and have come to a stalemate. There is only seven surviving kingdoms. Dubari's unclaimed treasure has become a myth and tale for the common folks.
