"Home?" Fiona lets out a light cheerful laugh. The young brunette props her cheek in her hand and looks about the bustling tavern. "Ah, Home's nice, yeah. I loved it there, the warm sunny skies, nice cool lake to swim in, sweet kisses in the shade, and the scent of grapes! Gods!" Fiona gives a wistful smile, "I remember sneaking into the O'Kelly's vineyards and stealing a few grapes to snack on. Melissa always yelled at me for smudging my purple stained hands on her face, but she loved the smell as much as I did. It was our smell..." The young woman chuckles and regains her cheery demeanor, "It was Rycroft."
Demographics
Rycroft has a predominantly human population with the exception of a few families being halfling.
Government
Sheriff Aedin O'Mally is the realm appointed defender of the town. Aedin served the Crown to help quell the Highlands rebellion in the year 660. As a returning decorated Sargent within the Illirian Military, he was given the position of Sheriff of Rycroft upon his retirement from military service in the year 661.
Defences
Rycroft has a small but defend-able castle at it's heart. Beyond that it has a town guard of twenty strong that primarily patrol throughout the town center.
Infrastructure
Rycroft is built first upon it's lush vineyards surrounding Castle Rycroft. Beyond that it also sits upon a crossroads between Avon and Landon, so receives decent trade between the two towns. Beyond that Rycroft is also home to a dedicated schoolhouse, a much welcomed rarity.
History
Rycroft was founded during the western expansion of 521 CE by Lady Shae of House Rycroft under the command of the then young Lord Dermond of House Corwyn.
Geography
Rycroft is set among a series of rolling hills, supplemented by the River Avon. To it's east beyond are dense forests.
Natural Resources
Due to it's location Rycroft has an abundance of natural resources. Seas of vineyards sprawl across rolling hills as sheep graze sunny green pastures. To the town's north, the River Avon provides irrigation and water while to the east Rycroft's dense forests allow for sustainable hunting and lumbering.
