Personal history

Kaldan was the secondborn son of Tulim, Lord of Illodia, which was a vassal to the Daulerim Empire.
Like many secondborn sons, Kaldan began the study of magic at a young age and developed a certain proficiency in it.
After his brother was killed during an invasion of western hill tribes, Kaldan became the heir.
In the year 321 a rebellion broke out troughout the Empire, which his father was part of. The rebellion was crushed after seven month and most rebellious lords were executed. Kaldan was to be brought into the capital as prisoner and replaced by an imperial governor. He managed however to flee on time and stayed in hiding.
Kaldan finally returned in 333 and started a new rebellion. This time he was aided by several of the Hill Tribes and the Order of Edlam , a group of mages he had befriended during his studies.
The rebellion ended in a ceasefire, securing the independence of Illodia. Soon after in the next year, several other lordships began to rebell too and joined Illodia, forming a united Empire to stand against the Daulerim.
