Igo

In the world of Igo there are many gods and goddesses with competing religions. Some of these gods are real and have influence over the world, and so there is magic. In addition, there is technology equivalent to the Victorian era (think of the early 16th century, with the printing press and muzzle-loaded rifles being in full use). We are starting in the land of the Nurblan Empire, which is the center of industry for the world, but there is a drawback. A strange phenomenon occurs with an increase of technology or industry in an area, the magical potency wears off and eventually disappears. Because of this, the most prominent magicians have migrated to the western continent of Arix and any use of technology or lack of magic is seen as a disability or a point of prejudice. Magicians are still tolerated within the empire, but are much less powerful than normal. The Empire of Nurblan is currently gearing up for war with its Northern neighbors and the party is stuck in the middle of it.
