Session 14.5 - Tragic Backstory Time

- goopy tendrils eviscerate the assassins, saving me
- - they attach onto one of my stuffed squirrels hanging from the cradle
8 yo
- everyone knows me by the name jackal
- rocky is very much not alive, but I think there is something more to him than meets the eye. he has the potential for something greater
- starving with my friend jimbo
- heading to the nut store to steal some nut, but unsuccessful
- scrounge thru dumpster and find some small yet delicious nuts
- jimbo goes back to orphanage, i continue looking for food
- come back to nut shop, door is open, vendor is dead, assassin standing over him
- assassin helps me get piece of the giant nut
- gives me flyer for thieves guild and invites me to the orientation
- - 12 ranks total, 12 is boss man, 1 is rookie
- - jackal is put down as my real name and thief alias
- sign up for guild, adding rocky as my companion
- run into the assassin again, his name is jim (not related to jimbo)
- get kicked out of orphanage for stabbing my bully (jimley) in the foot
17-yo
- rank 10 in guild, i actually run a small division of it in mogli
- take 1 mil gold contract to kill the nurblan prince
- in the rafters above, preparing to strike
- a shapeless apparition knocks me down and saps all my strength (now level 1)
- i run away
- i'm kicked out of the local guild due to the bounty on my head and am demoted to rank 2 worldwide
- i decide to start "anew" by taking a ship to kharkl (but first to some random land called "fortnitius" for some odd jobs and to lay low)
- campaign begins
now, in a tavern
- door opens behind us
- loud harmonic humming
- HORSE JESUS RETURNS!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Session 14 - Jackal gets spotted again and chaos ensues
inside the castle
- i passed my burnt-ass clothes off as a disguise for the party
- run into a noble by the name of lord boob jr, and apparently matholomew is there
- king commences the party, brandishes a phoenix(?) in a small cage
- - so the king DOES have a phoenix...
- i wake rocky up to devise a plan for getting the cage, but the power magers had detect good/evil active and notice him wake
- they spot me and are heading towards me, i throw a humming rock in the air and make a run for it
- start making a run for it, run into hundreds of guards
- a bell falls on top of us, we dodge out the way. looking at where the bell fell from, a hooded figure slinks away
- - someone's trying to kill us
- bell crushes several guards and makes an opening, we escape downhill

- buy a house, courtesy of big phil
- - house has a ghoul in the basement, too strong for us to fight at the moment
- - 3 bedrooms, 4 rooms, quite smalle, allows us to vote in the council, also allows us to only face house arrest for nonviolent crimes
- lay low for a few days

we prepare for a dungeon excursion, because we desperately need money and fighting experience.
Session 13 - Terrorism

- i walk away from town square and vault onto a rooftop
- throw a humming rock at berg
- antimatter completely voids out surrounding area, i fell to the ground
- mage avengers show up to finish off berg, they find other orb half
- - i get rocky to fetch it, he sprouts tendrils (which i don't see), devours one of the avenger's hands in the process, returns lightning quick w/ orb half
- head back to thieves guild to collect payment (29 plat)
- - rocky was drenched in blood when i got there, saying "full...."
- learn that king of town might have a phoenix

- try to exchange 3 platinum for 30 gold under matholomew's name
- - theyre suspicious since matholomew came in for the same thing
- - i walk out the bank and tell rocky to get the plat back, he devours more hands, bank gets a hole blown thru it
- mage avengers show up and arrest 3 of us (rowena showed up by now)

- truth stone can discern whether we're telling truth or not
- rowena tampers with it to convince them it's defective
- they believe it, so they decide to throw me into a deep pond and see if i sink to the bottom
- rowena convinces them to walk away and stop observing, so they boil the water and leave
- i burn a hole thru burlap sack and break free
- fish people try to drag me under but i cut their hands off
- run away from pond while being chased by guard dogs
- get nice and dry from fire sprouts and land mines
I'm now inside the castle searching for signs of a pheonix.

- mathey and rowena keep being suspicious of rocky (why?)

Session 10 - The Trek
We wake up in a ditch on the side of the road

- dropped the orbs on the floor and guard didn't see it

- dig through mountain to other side (i had to use the shovel droppings to cover the way behind us)

We decide to head to the big city (Kirukhad?).
- they will kill me on sight if they see i have antimagic bullets
- pheonix blood is illegal (don't go asking around aimlessly)
- they got a magic thieves guild that uses antimagic bullets for assassinations
- i can sell clockwork bullets here for 10 gold a piece (business opportunity?).
Session 8 - Squirrels and Orbs
Tavern
- Rowena (and kobold gang) run into Aherda at tavern
- loud tremor in earth
- city center has large gaping hole
- rowena investigates for shovel droppings / excavation holes
Forest
- no idea where we are
- head east w/ mathey
- walk through front gate, make our way to city center
Large chasm
- rowena investigating fungus
- palace guard captain w/ funny hat (not crimshaw) approaches
- they sneak away
- we run into them
- heal mathey
- loudly mention glowing orbs, someone shows up and wants an orb
- we clean rowena's shit rag and fail to sell it

- seven guards show up at house, question rowena about chasm.
- they investigate house, pat down rowena but find nothing and leave

- we decide to leave
Bounty clearing time,
- go to body pit
- disguise two bodies as me and mathey
- the farmer there (bolimia?) recognized me
- - she wants me, yay.
- aherda and rowena head to bounty office, theyt get no money though
We're now on the trail of a pheonix.
Session 7 - The Heart of the Fungus
The fungal corridor

find a very small abandoned town
hide from the krunker in a shed

mathey catches the scent of tortellini's cloud
leads down a pulsating hole
we climb down with a rope
The Digestive System
reach bottom
every surface is pure fungus, constantly pulsating, infected corpses of several races in the walls
- some of them were from the thieves' guild
walk through, mathey using his darkvision to guide us
The Heart
stumble upon a room with several inactive creatures standing in front of the heart
- there's an orb in the center fo the heart
- - just like the BERG ORB
- - Tortellini created the stinking disease??
fireball the shit out of them
sever one of the heart's connections
huge ass fungal creature (HAFG) approaches and rams mathey into the wall
we fight it off, mathey gets downed
- THE SHOVEL CAN DEAL DAMAGE
HAFG runs into the heart in a fury, gets disintegrated
I stabilize mathey and pick up the FUNGUS ORB.
We use the shovel to dig up to the surface. We are now in the middle of nowhere.

Session 6 - Spores Galore
Mathey and I escaped to the thieves' guild hideout... which was a camouflaged cardboard box stuck in a tree.
- Rowena hears us snoring and pokes the box. We wake up and tell her what happened yesterday.
- She decides to head to Belingo to try and get herself fungal protection.
- - Apparently Mathey and I are wanted dead or alive for 75 gold.
- - Rowena failed to convince Belingo.
We sell the faulty swords
- 25 gold!
- guards show up
- Rowena bribes them with 4 gold to turn the other way.
- - PER GUARD: 1 gold to turn other way, 5 to beat someone up, 10 to kill someone and their lineage.
- - - Wouldn't this be useful... if they weren't impostors
Back to tortellini's house
- kobold gang
- I toss fuzzy a gold piece
- I convince fuzzy to be our allies in return for helping him find pheonix blood
Basement
- back to the spores
- john (kobold that fuzzy sent down previously) is found infected and turned inside out by a krunker.
- told him to stay put, doesn't seem hostile so far
- told rowena to stop rocky's chittering, rocky still chitters but not as loud
- - I have no issue with it (obviously), but Mathey and Rowena are paranoid about it.
- went further down, saw pulsating fungi
- heard scuttling in front and behind us.
We have a fight ahead of us.
Session 5 - On Tortellini's Trail

-Guards came to investigate, we left the vicinity
-Guards are quarantining
-Matholomew convinced them to leave

-Crimshaw (captain) confronts us because I used the berg orb
-Almost free to go, but mathey brings up the man’s wife
-Pats mathey down, finds the phoenix blood
-Almost drinks it, mathey commands him to stop
-We run away
