Temporum

The portal she passed through did not lead where Nobu thought it would take her. It had taken months for her to discover and later a simple teleport spell to travel forward in time. Nobu found herself surrounded by pendulums and gears. Wherever she ended up, the entire place ticked with a regularity that was uncanny.   Her portal had closed behind her. At the moment the floor moved beneath her, so she couldn't set up her ritual. Nobu watched her step. Stepping in the wrong place could lose her a foot. She held onto her tail to avoid it getting caught in the gears. After a few minutes of navigating the deathtrap of cogs, she stepped out into an open area with solid ground.   The structure she had stepped out of was one of many. They were large "building" with clock faces of all sides adorning their walls. The sky itself was a massive clock. Nobu realized that the rhythmic tick was all of the clocks working in perfect synchrony. The land has a light orange hint of light from a mysterious light source behind the clock face in the sky.   Her original plan had been forgotten while she was enthralled by ticking and perfect clockwork. Small machines scurried through the open walkway, headed to some unknown destination. Each of them ticked with the regularity of the overhead clock. One of them stopped and looked at Nobu for a singular tick before moving on. They scurried into the machine behind Nobu, moving without getting in the way of its great gears.   Nobu reached into her bag. She had to grab her notebook and record all of this. Digging through the pack, one of her wands slipped out of the pack. It fell through a gap and got caught into a gear. The gear hesitated for a moment before crushing the wand. It exploded, knocking Nobu back and spreading the contents of her pack across the moving platform. She scrambled to collect her things.   She heard the movement of a much larger machine, as it didn't shake the gears surrounding her. Standing taller than her, nearly 8ft tall was a complex bipedal machine. She noticed it was made up of the much smaller machines, each moving in tandem as they were one. She could hear the much smaller ticks coming from the machine. After about a minute of it being in view, she heard a much louder tick. She scurried to collect the rest of her things.   The machine reached her location. "TEMPORAL ANOMALY DETECTED." It reached for Nobu.   She tried to dodge out of the way, but the machine was too quick. It gripped her tightly and its chest cavity opened. Placing her inside she felt the machine hold her tight. Then the pain began. The smaller machines started working to tear her apart. Pulling off pieces of the skin the smaller machines began collecting the blood in containers that they held inside themselves. The ticking of the sky clock drowned out the screams as Nobu was torn to pieces and used for parts in the Great Clock.

Geography

Temporum is the mighty clock that keeps time flowing throughout the multiverse. It is maintained by the Keeper of Time and his Temporatum, machines to maintain the flow of time. The entire region of Automatta is a massive set of clockwork that keeps perfect timing.   Almost no surface in Temporum is not used to help keep time. The most important regions of Temporum are the Power Plant, the Face of Temporum, and the Pendulum of Eternity. The Power Plant is the region of Temporum that supplies the power to all the clockwork in Temporum. The Face of Temporum is the massive clock face in the sky. It tells the exact time of all the planes at any given moment. The Pendulum of Eternity is the mighty Pendulum that keeps the exact pacing of time.

Fauna & Flora

The only creatures on Temporum are the Temporatum. Their base forms are the Seconds which combine to become Minutes, then Hours, Days, Months, Years, and finally Eons. The larger they become the rarer they become to see. It is said that an Eon has not been seen since the plane of Limbo attempted to invade and disrupt the great machine of Automatta.
