Synopsis
After the group returned from their journey to the City of Glass Nekane's grandmother,
Kat Talnae, called Nekane and her acquantences to assist in finding a missing guard and some stolen corpses. The party followed the leads to a warehouse in the
Southern Spear's docking district. There they encountered a Flesh Golem, hiding the corpse of Church of Life's Archivist. There they also found stolen corpses marked with the symbol of the Dofranz Trading Company.
After the warehouse was burned to the ground, the party stayed at Nekane's place where
Aldwyn Orbrandir made an appearance, claiming to have known the party. An assassin attacked in the middle of the night, with Nekane's place catching fire. Grieving over her the loss of some of her mother's paintings she visited the crypt where her mother was kept. There they discovered a secret door that refused to grant them passage, and evidence that Nekane's mother's sarcophagus had been tampered with.
When they went to investigate the Archivist they found him alive, however it was really a doppleganger in disguise. They befriended the doppleganger who was recruited by the Church of Life and was sent out of town. The doppleganger directed them to the house of Althidon Naemaer, an archeologist of the Golden Society of Historical Sciences. He supposively surveyed a hidden tomb within the Church of Life's crypt. Unfortunately Althidon was killed by a mysterious metal ball that flew through the air hitting all of the party, before he was able to give them a copy of the map. They managed to find a copy in a safe hidden in his home.
Also from the Doppleganger came information of a Necromancer hideout. The group scoped it out magically, discovering two individuals and a set of enchanted armor. Before having the chance to check the place out, Aldwyn and Aranos disappeared. When Aldwyn reappeared, Aranos was confirmed dead.
Faeron had noticed a severe lack of animals in the town, save for a cat that led them to the local Temple to
Werno, Goddess of Time and Earth where they spoke to the temple
Wertic tree. It spoke a prophecy before withering and dying:
The Harbinger of Ice will rise. A soulless demon's rest will end, to bring the heat of this city to an end.
From there the group made their way around town coming up with a plan until they were called upon due to an attack on the catacombs. When they arrived they saw
Aaron Elevir standing with a large Icy figure in armor wielding the two swords that had been stolen from the Temple of Celle. There was also a robed figure (who would be confirmed as the risen corpse of
Mimi Elevir ) and an albino Dragonborn with a patch of black scales over their left eye. Before the group could make it to the group Aaron opened a door in space and the group disappeared.
Within the catacombs was a secret entrance that was now open. Several soldiers of the church were skewered with Ice and in a large chamber
Kat Talnae was encased in a block of ice. The ice was made with a powerful magic which the group could only dispel after a conglomeration of bodies that had been bound together attacked the group. After defeating it they dispelled the magic and Kat was left comatose. From there the group had no other leads on the whereabouts of Aaron as the Necromancer hideout had been abandoned.
