Siren's eyes

Siren's eyes is the name for the condition of people who are slowly being entranced by the veil after taking the risk of farming their fields whilst a veill is nearby, even from a distance where normally the veill couldn't directly tempt someone to it it still plants it's suggestive magic deep in someones mind slowly without realizing growing them accustomed to the veil and taking away their fear.  The poor victims don't even realize that they are slowly coaxed towards the veil until they cannot walk away no more, unless someone around notices the very feint purple outline around the whites of their eyes and keep them (forcefully if needed) away from the veil.

Transmission & Vectors

Prolonged exposure to the veil from a moderate distance, short exposure to the veil from a short distance (but at that point the person is typically already lost)

Causes

The mixing of magical energies from the veil and the demons behind twisting the energy without even knowing it themselves.

Symptoms

Glazed eyes, short attention span and periodic functional blackouts. Dreams of what lies beyond the veil and at the end stage an unstoppable desire to walk into the veil.

Treatment

The only way to properly keep the condition under control or in some cases cure it is to ask for help from a a high ranking priest capable of healing the affliction with divine power, or you could try your luck for freelance sorcerers and wizards in the slum bazaar to see if one of them has an actual solution that won't turn you into a goat.

Prognosis

Ok if noticed in time, if the purple becomes so noticable that people can see it from a couple of feet away there is nothing you can do most of the time.

Prevention

The only true prevention is to avoid proximity to the Faeveil or have protection from a priest (which is really hard to to find or very expensive.
Unfortunately there are also those that try to make a quick buck on so called "protection" and sell homemade fake Faecharms that do absolutely nothing except endangering the poor slums even more.
