The conversation quieted as Lady Vaughn took to the center of the room, her gold-flecked emerald eyes swept over the salon.
Beautiful lips articulated a queerish, baleful sound; the Herald's Greeting. Those in attendance reiterated the strange words, nodding and smiling.
Taniel Vaughn smiled and waved everyone closer. "I am pleased so many of you have brought friends and family to our little soiree and that you all are curious about this delightful club. We here, in the Circle of Tarvaldus, named for our honored founder, look beyond the simple and mundane veil that obscure the eyes of the average."
The woman made a motion to dim the lights. "In this place, we put aside the plebeian and pedestrian beliefs in gods, goddesses, myths. Here we search for truth unvarnished. The mysteries left behind by our forerunners that may reveal the nature of reality, of the inner workings of the universe. I say to this we toast!"

Monetary treasury consists of moderate amount of wealth from combined disposable income and resources of two dozen middle and several upper houses. History

Began Two-hundred years ago when an aristocratic dilettante archaeologist, Hargrave Tarveldus found and transcribed the runic script of the ancient Rethyri in the caverns below the island. Drew together a group of philosophers, scholars and literaturists to further discuss it's meaning. Several went mad and others began committing heinous crimes.
The Order was refounded under the name "The Circle of Tarvaldus" Seventy-four years later under the leadership of Taniel Vaughn, the daughter of Hargrave and Cimbrea.
Taniel proceeded to draw together a wealthy, curious and influential group , who were more importantly, bored. Teaching them hints and stories about the elder powers that shaped the universe.
