Sarastra the Lucky

Fey God of Luck, Gambling, Changing Fates, Karma, and the Wheel of Fortune.
Sarastra is the god of Luck, patron to gamblers, and favorite among all those who wish to change their lot in life. He is a fickle but just god, attempting to ensure that all have both ill and good fortune in equal measure. What goes up on fate’s great wheel must come down, says Sarastra, and the prince ought to one day be a pauper or vice versa. Sarastra wars with the other gods who grant epic destinies or fates, and he holds that fortune should be true and blind. His followers are thus blessed with being untethered from the strands of fate, having no set path in the world. More than anything else, all will both be lucky and run out of luck eventually. Sarastra’s favorite game is roulette, and his most despised heretics are those who seek to rig games of pure chance through deterministic means. Sarastra is also a rare Fey god to gather followers in mortal lands, having a respectable church in the kingdom of Zyrria where the culture is favorable towards ideas of changing fates and the virtue of gambling.     TENETS OF SARASTRA:   Neither greatness nor squalor should be left to anything but chance.   Do not plan, simply do, and accept the risks. Leave it all to the whims of luck.   Any beggar can become a noble, but any noble can become a beggar.   Do not envy or pity. All will have their chance to be enviable and pitiable.   Gambling is a virtue. Be prepared to risk it all for your fate.   SYMBOL OF SARASTRA: The Wheel of Fortune, often depicted as a roulette wheel.
