Saint Paeni the Charitable

Saint of Giving, Kindness, Aid, and Individual Charity

Paeni is the Saint of Charity and Kindness, and his Church serves as one of the largest institutions for aiding the impoverished in all of Idris. It is told that Paeni gave his armor to mortalkind out of kindness to shield them from danger, and in exchange expects them to be kind in return. Paeni blesses his followers to be kind to a fault, and tithe as generously as they can so that others may be helped. For Paeni, kindness is an axiomatic good requiring no compensation, and so encourages his followers to not accept rewards for their good deeds. Paeni opposes aid through any means but charity, as he feels it makes individuals donate less and lose respect for good deeds.

The poor and downtrodden need your aid the most. Do not leave them behind

Institutions that promote societal welfare are to be opposed, as they make all less generous

Charity must be voluntary, or it is not kindness. Charity without choice is theft
