Culture and cultural heritage
At the end of the week, all citizens meet with their work division for a bonfire (enchanted as to not burn anything)
to give thanks for the good things that occurred that week. At the end of the month, the entire community gathers for a giant bonfire celebration, and every work division shares their triumphs of the past month.
On the solstices, they hold a huge festival celebration
Shared customary codes and values
None shall leave the forest, None shall enter the forest All citizens shall recieve respect, regardless of their actions or wrongdoings Knowledge is power Work/fight smarter, not harder
Average technological level
Incredibly advanced magical and floral technology, use magic and plants/vines/limbs to build clever contraptions, such as automated lifts, irrigation systems for their herbs, self-reading maps, etc.
Common Etiquette rules
Greet each other with the respectful: "Hello, [tree name] [actual name]" Example: "Hello, Birch Nichol!" "Hello, Cypress Chidji!"
Common Dress code
Very modest Must be at least 50% covered at all times Combat-trained citizens are usually less covered than the average citizen, due to the need of freeness in the limbs. When in the commons, must wear symbol of trade (basket for gatherers, hammer for builders, syringe for healers) for identification purposes
Art & Architecture
Architecture varies from builder to builder - the community is a very diverse and beautiful place. A popular design for quarters, though, is a dome-shape with a flat floor built around the trunk of a tree, so that the trunk is inside the house. Almost all of the buildings are connected somehow, be it by bridges, spiral stairs, lift transportation, or other, so you can get anywhere in the community from wherever you stand.
Common Customs, traditions and rituals
The arch is a revered shape to Florivians. It represents the way the branches of a tree arch over a clearing. It is mostly present in weddings, grave markers, and very important individuals have arching doorways to their home.
Coming of Age Rites
When a young Florivian thinks they've found the perfect job for themselves, they must complete a series of rigorous tasks relating to that job. If they successfully complete those tasks, they become an apprentice of that trade. If not, they must choose another profession. If the failed test is the only job they will ever want, an appeal can be made to the council, and they will be allowed to retake the tests.
Funerary and Memorial customs
When a Florivian dies, it is either because their patron tree is damaged/destroyed, or they were fatally wounded in battle. For a funeral, the community will gather in the burial grounds (a very revered and sacred place in the community) to pay their respects to the fallen citizen. Their patron tree will be crafted into an arch, and under which they will be buried.
Common Taboos
Any association or mention of the Firesmiths of the mountains. Fire itself is a risky thing to mention, seeing how easily it ravages all plantlife.
Ideals
Beauty Ideals
Mid-tone dark skin, long hair, colorful eyes, long, slender limbs
Gender Ideals
Everyone is equal, no favoritism or segregation. Each gender shows different strengths that help the community.
Courtship Ideals
Must be willing to mate for life, if both representing the same tree, their magic is strengthened, sub takes the tree name of the dom
Relationship Ideals
As long as love is involved, any relationship is okay
Major organizations
Far east, there is a small rebel group of runaway Florivians who did not agree with the social customs and laws of the main community, gathered in the city Lumoai. Other than that, there are really only a handful of free-roaming Florivians not belonging to the community.
