Idiari

Another setting because I have no self-control or I hate myself or a combination of the two.     Basically it just exists to house some cute comfy scenes I started writing but then almost without trying I started fleshing out the world.     Idiari is a nation still rebuilding after losing a devastating war. An eighth of its adult population was killed, its centers of industry were ravaged, its cultural identity of victory and prosperity was broken. The victorious nation Sanue has delegated its occupation force to prevent Idiari from falling into chaos. The people of Idiari are desperately trying to rebuild their lives and their nation.     Inspiration-wise, Idiari is a bit of a hodgepodge. Aesthetically, it's based on the southwestern Mediterranean regions, i.e. Italy, Sicily, southern France, Corsica, the Iberian Peninsula, Morocco, and Tunisia, but with cultural influences from the Victorian era and from the US and UK during and immediately after World War II. It's also technologically Edwardian but with some magitech and no guns. I already have a setting with guns and I don't like guns that much.
