Argus Derbin Trageth
Argus Trageth is the proud owner of The Hangry Chimera Inn and Pub, located in the town of AllPoints in the Kingdom of Grendalia.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Stocky yet slouching build. Middle aged with a face creased from years of smiling. Thick forearms. Argus walks with a noticeable limp, even more pronounced when it is raining or cold.
Body Features
Stocky shoulders, and thick hairy forearms. A slight potbelly he tries to hide behind a shop apron as best as he can.
Facial Features
Worn and grooved face, that easily assumes a smile. Balding hairline.

Argus has a gold ring in each ear and a runic tattoo on his left hand.

Right handed. Considerable limp in left leg.

Apparel & Accessories
While working he wears simple loose clothing. Open collar shirt, baggy suede trousers and serviceable boots. He has taken to wearing a shop apron to help hide his growing gut.
Specialized Equipment
It is suspected Argus may have some equipment from his early life, but he claims he sold his sword for money to build his inn. He does have a beautifully crafted lute on hand that clearly was not made in AllPoints.

Personal history
Argus Trageth appeared in the town of AllPoints in the year of 848, flush with more money than most residents had ever seen, which he claimed to have earned adventuring. He's still willing to share stories from those days, though most suspect there to be a healthy bit of embellishment involved. Argus thought the Crossroad to be an ideal spot to set up an inn, and due to a combination of fortune, hubris and a complete lack of business sense he managed to do just that.
Because he retired relatively young, townsfolk suspect a falling out with his mates or tragedy abruptly ended his career. They also suspect it may be the cause of his limp or the disappearance of his child's mother. Either way, Argus has turned his back on that life and settled down in AllPoints to attempt his hand at running a business.

Argus is heterosexual, and is known to flirt with any willing lady that strikes his fancy. He has one son, but it is unknown if he has ever been married.

It's unclear what, if any, formal training Argus had received. He can read and write, and perfom math well enough to keeps his accounts straight. He is also known, when the mood hits him, to play whatever stringed instrument is at hand while regaling all with a song. He has a vast knowledge of legends and tales, many in the form of songs, as well as tales of his own exploits.
Employment
Details of Argus' life are fragmentary, and often conflicting, but he claims to have been raised in a travelling band of minstrels. At some point, details vary greatly on this point, he discovered he was adept at bladework as he was with a lute, and set off on his new line of work battling monsters and rescuing beautiful noble women. Eventually he decided the next phase of his life would be best spent offering ale and rooms to those with coin to spare.
Accomplishments & Achievements
If Argus is to be believed he lived a life bursting full of epic battles, narrow escapes, adoring women, and riches beyond measure. Perhaps the only physical proof of any of these claims is the Chimera heads mounted above the bar.
Failures & Embarrassments
Argus does not talk about his failures, but he doesn't get into specifics when asked why he left the life of adventuring behind. Many assume whatever the cause is either embarrassing or to painful to speak of. He does seem not to be the best innkeeper,or AllPoints is not the best location, and is likely losing money on the venture every year.

Argus is friendly to new customers and old regulars alike, treating all like they are his oldest friends. He is a capable musician, with a surprisingly pleasant voice.

Argus is generally a good natured person, and can almost always be seen with a smile on his face. Lately he is happiest when business is good, which doesn't happen nearly enough. Slow to anger few have seen him upset, but in a handful of events with violently drunk patrons he displayed some hint at his fighting past.

Motivation
He had longed to put the village of AllPoints on the map with the Hangry Chimera as its anchor. Eventually he hoped his son would assume responsibility of the inn. He also hoped to have a well stocked wine cellar filled with vintages from all over the continent. He is coming to realize he is unlikely to see any of these dreams reach fruition.

Argus has a sixteen year old son Trevor. A sister Tula, and a nineteen year old neice Alice. They all reside with him under the roof of the Hangry Chimera.

Argus is incredibly gregarious, often to an undesirable level. Despite his sometimes bombastic energy he still manages to win most people over with his kindness and charm.
Hobbies & Pets
No permanent pets, but he is known to leave leftovers on the back stoop for stray cats, as well as allowing mother cats to raise their litters in a corner of the pantry.

His voice is deep and somewhat coarse, but seemingly transforms into a smooth, rich tone when he sings.
