The year is 20X5, and the situation amongst the gods is tumultuous. Marxus, the ex-god of life who is seeking to establish himself as the God of Time, has only recently been banished to Ysgard by the best adventurers Icris had to offer. Now, the world is in a limbo, caught between the struggles of the higher powers seeking to eliminate each other, and the ones on the ground just trying to survive. Old powers are awakening, finally taking interest in the world's affairs. Monsters swarm from where they lay dormant for years. Do you have what it takes to rise to the challenge?

  Icris is a high magic setting with dozens of races living together in relative harmony. A long expansive history that is continuously being added to and complemented by present games, there are events involving players both past and present. It is easy for you to be as involved or as non-involved as you want in the lore. The overall tone has been compared to Greek myths, with meddling gods and regions organized by city-states.  

For Beginners

  On this page you will be able to find articles to help build your backstory. As race lore is currently minimal, you can seek reference from the official D&D sourcebooks for general inspiration on roleplay, though take their lore with a pinch of salt especially regarding named places and people. It is not necessary to read in depth into the lore if you don't want to. If you have any further questions, please DM the FanMail bot on the server, located at the top of the right hand sidebar.  

How It Works

Updates to the main plotlines are regularly added by FG. The sources of these updates usually stem from patron quests, raids and shrines. DW's team of editors made up of Seniors help consolidate and add world lore from within the server, such as locations, history, and events. The sources of these are usually from pre-existing lore dug deep from the depths of channels or major events like mass combats. Level 20 characters that retire can work with FG get their own entry under the Legendary Heroes category in here.   Due to the sheer amount of quests produced by DMs, their content is not automatically added here. However, DMs may request to have an entry here for one of their subjects for every 10 games they run. It should be noted that lore created by DMs within their games is generally perpetuated by the DMs themselves, thus it does not usually pop up in main questlines and you can just read it for your own entertainment.   If you find existing lore within the server that has not been added here, you are welcome to summarise it and submit it to the FanMail bot.
