Thania

"The Nation of Invention"

Thania is the nation that never stops. The land the nation lies in has been completely warped by the abundant mechanists and metallurgist that live there. In its territory there is not a single shred of natural growing life. Fog smears in the horizon at all times; fumes from the homes of its citizens. If one holds their ear to the ground, a constant tic can be heard emanating from the cities' synced gears. A train made enitrely of magical gears has recently made getting around the country an easy endeavor.
Skill is the most valued possession here. The skill itself is not important, but it is the mastery of said skill that the people seek. It could be said the nation's unofficial motto is "if you do something be the best at it". This often leads to fighting over who is "the best", however instead of physical it is held in the form of competition or intellectual debate.

A Nation Made of Metals

The geography of Thania is a strange one. Due to the impact of the abundant mechanists and metallurgists that live there, the land is characterized by a complete absence of naturally growing life. Replaced instead by the vast machines and structures built by its skilled citizens. The air is thick with fog and fumes from the ceaseless activity of its bustling cities, and the constant ticking of gears can be heard beneath the feet of those who walk its streets.  The warping of Thania's land is evident in every aspect of the nation. From the lack of flora and fauna to the presence of towering mechanical structures, Thania is a place where the forces of industry and technology have completely reshaped the landscape. One interesting aspect of Thania is the way its cities are arranged. Each city is built around a central clock, which dictates the flow of life and work in the city. They believe as the cities turn throughout the day, the gears of Thania's society turn, driving the nation toward the future.

You're The Best Around

(yeah now the song is stuck in your head too, you're welcome.)
The culture of Thania is defined by a strong focus on skill and excellence. Its citizens are driven to be the best around, at whatever they do, and this pursuit of mastery has led to a strong culture of competition and debate. From arcanists to mechanists to inventors and intellectuals, the people of Thania are always seeking to push the boundaries of what is possible.
This focus on skill has also led to a highly meritocratic society, where those who prove themselves most skilled and capable rise to positions of leadership and influence. In Thania, hard work and talent are highly prized, and those who excel in their chosen fields are respected and admired by their peers.
The newest invention of the magic gear train by Fass, has had a significant impact on Thania's current affairs. Quickly making Fass the president of one of its cities. This new mode of transportation has made it easier for people to travel between the nation's cities and share their knowledge and expertise with one another. It has also allowed the country to expand and grow more quickly, as people are able to more easily move between different parts of its land.

Because I'm The President

The nation's government is a meritocracy, with positions of leadership and influence held by those who have proven themselves most skilled and capable. Each city has its own president, and these presidents work together to rule the nation as a whole. Their government is organized around the idea of promoting excellence and progress, and it values the contributions of its most talented citizens. As a result, the nation's leaders are often chosen among its most successful and accomplished individuals, whether they be inventors, artists, or practitioners of other skilled trades.

A Somewhat True Tale by Estaban

--I remember the day of the music battle like it was yesterday. Or at least, I think I do. It's all a bit of a blur to be honest....But, I'm pretty sure I was there..Yeah no no, I was definitely there. Anyway. It was just another day in the capital. I was on my way to get a greenice, you know like the one's the guy gives you at the cart? I like to mix the flavors myself. Green and Blue. Sometimes Pink.

   --Huh?..

--Oh yeah, so I was walking down the street right. And I look over and I see the president standing in the middle of the park with people starting to crowd him. Now keep in mind the president at the time was a serious dude, like real tough looking and stuff. And he was known for his mechanical harp playing. So I think to myself "hell yeah pop up concert" cause you didn't really see those back then. You know I had an uncle named Eddie. He always played one of those mechanical harps, at strange hours too. I'd wake up in the middle of the night to hear twingle twangle, twingle twangle, over and over again. So I yell out the window "Eddie shut the fuck up, I'm trying to get some shut off time over here!", and I...where was I going with this?
     --Redacted
--Oh right, right. So I'm over there, you know, peeking over the crowd, and I see this dude wearing like too many belts. Then someone yells out Challenged, so that's when I knew it was about to get good. They started playing and shit, there was like a green tap dancing girraffe at some point. It was killer... But... in the end *leans in* the president lost. Really makes you think huh? Anyway so is this like for the library or like am I gonna get paid fo.......
