Amid a field of battle a warrior-cleric falls to a lucky arrow. In the deep forests, an elf dies of heartbreak. An old man fades away in his daily meditation into the beyond.
And yet, death is not the end for those favored few of the gods.
The Divine and the Dead
Gods can incarnate their own power into spirits, infusing them with a fragment of their divinity in at least one of the domains in which they hold sway. This power must be willingly given and received, and so no soul has ever been "trapped" in existence by being bound into divinity, or bent into accepting divinity in a domain they were unwilling to.
