Otieno Family
"Otieno" is perhaps one of the most well-recognized names in today's history. This Glejanese family and the people who served them are well-known for covering the escape of the majority of Glejan's citizens and other noble houses, sacrficing themselves in the process.
Before the Olmou Monarchy's invasion, the Otieno family were known as great guardians and protectors. They would often provide the service of warding off wild animals or hostile foreigners for the price of favors -- or for free, if the person aided truly couldn't repay them.
Other members of the family included Sibusisiwe's sisters Nontle & Nnenne, her brother Maina, his husband Ayokunle, and their children Tafari, Odhiambo, Chinweike, & Wekesa.

Our purpose is to protect, not to plunder. The head of the family at the time was the matriarch Sibusisiwe Maryamu Otieno, a cold and intimidating figure, who cared deeply for her family and the people she ruled over. She is said to have lead the affront against the Olmou Monarchy, but surprisingly -- at least for the Glejanese -- historical accounts vary greatly.
