The Expedition to the Unexplored Continent

Roughly three hundred years ago a group of 10 god-blooded were transported to an undiscovered land. The gods themselves had sent them with an inscrutable mission. Almost a decade later, one returned. Devyn, the dwarven warrior from Laubrok never spoke publicly about his time away. He did ensure that nine statues were built across the various empires to memorialize those god-blooded he had called brothers and sisters at arms. Over time mythology and mad theories began to quietly work their way through various academic groups. Historians, arcanists, explorers and thrill seekers would all occasionally come across rumors of a land called Uxu.   Now, three hundred years later, brought together by a prominent historian with friends in positions of political authority, an inventor pushing the bounds of what artifice can do, and an airship captain with more curiosity than sense, a group of colonists, and their god-blooded protectors have agreed to undertake a possible suicide mission. They will travel, via airship four thousand miles, far more than any airship's float stone capacity will allow. To survive, the inventor and the captain have theorized that they can actually get the ship to the top of the floating ocean, and sail on it the way smaller vessels do on lakes and rivers. As they set out, the historian and the inventor, (placeholders again) watched their friend and a group of imperial citizens all with something in their past that had pushed them into this madness, and hoped that they would one day hear word.
