Zora
Zora [Unknown]
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Zora is huge and powerful. She's in excellent physical condition, and she will continue to be so unless she runs out of reishi to consume. She's very physically fit, with a tall, lean body, and a lot of physical strength. In her release form, she's one of the most massive Hollows to ever exist.
Body Features
Zora has fair skin with ruddy and cool undertones. Her hair is dark indigo, and while she's on her own, it falls to her ankles in wild spikes and waves. Naturally wavy, her hair tends to fall in her face, and while she does grow more slowly than a human, she's never had a haircut in her thousands of years of not-life. After she joins Las Noches, though, she significantly tames her hair. She has her hair cut to waist length, and her bangs trimmed back to be out of her way. Her body is tall and lean, with thin, wiry muscle and a lot of sheer power. Zora is very tall, with big hands and a strong core. Even in her human form, she's much bigger than most Arrancar. Her body, unlike most Hollows, has no scars. Her Hollow hole is through her left hand.
Facial Features
Zora's eyes are wine-red in color. They're sharp and tend to look angry, and she's prone to getting dark circles under them. Her features are generally very sharp. She has a cutting jaw, a rather angular, square face, and sharp cheekbones. Her nose is long and thin, with an even bridge and no obvious breaks. Her mouth is wide, and her teeth are sharper than a human's. Zora lacks obvious freckles, and has very few blemishes. Her expressions tend to be proud and condescending, and while she rarely looks happy, there's almost always a smile on her face. Her mask fragment takes the form of a row of jagged spikes on either side of her head, sprouting out just behind her ears. There are four of them in each row, and the edges are wickedly sharp.
Physical quirks
Zora is completely ambidextrous. She's not entirely aware that other people aren't. Her posture is relaxed, and she often lazes around, draping herself over whatever is in her way. Her body is long and lanky, however, she's surprisingly graceful for the sheer amount of limb she has to keep track of. She frequently picks at her hands, particularly her Hollow hole, and she does so as less of a nervous tic than a bored one. She also tends to scratch at her throat when she's upset, especially when she's frustrated, angry, or impatient. This scratching is usually minor, but the more upset Zora is, the worse it gets. She's easily drawn blood before.
Special abilities
Zora has a variety of powers, including what's typical of Arrancar. She's far above average in terms of basic powers. However, Zora, unlike most Arrancar, doesn't have a zanpakuto. She's a "naturally" formed Arrancar, and what would have become her zanpakuto is simply another part of her power. Instead, she fights with her bare hands, using her hierro to prevent any wounds. She's more than capable of taking on a weapon this way, although she does have a small collection of stolen swords from those she's killed. In her human life, she was a swordfighter, thus, she's far above average in that skill as well.
As far as abilities go, Zora is highly irregular for a Hollow. As a "naturally" formed Arrancar, she deviates from the norm of Hollow powers, both in the nature of her abilities and the sheer strength that she possesses. To begin with, Zora is capable of manipulating both weather and land in any dimension that has enough reishi to sustain her. In Hueco Mundo, she can do anything from making the moon go dark for brief periods of time, to manipulating the sand itself and causing massive waves of smothering grit. She can cause dangerously high winds, drop the temperature down past freezing, open up massive sinkholes in the sand capable of swallowing entire buildings, cause rain storms and flooding, and create massive earthquakes.
This power, as with all of hers, is heavily reliant on the amount of reishi in the area. Zora's powers operate by passively absorbing all of the spiritual energy in an area, and in her release specifically, she needs a massive amount of said energy to function. She's can absorb energy from living beings as well, and many stronger entities will feel weakened or drained around her due to this. However, when there isn't sufficient energy, Zora's powers falter. She's still dangerously strong physically, but her abilities only work when she has energy to work from.
Despite her lack of a zanpakuto, Zora still has a release form. Her release command is "podnimat'sya i pobezhdat', Mozazavr," and in that form, she becomes an absolutely massive, mosasaur-like monster so large that her sheer mass can blot out the light of the moon. This form is capable of flight, as if she was swimming through air, has bioluminescence that she can control, and absorbs spiritual energy like a vacuum. While in her release, all of Zora's regular powers apply, including the weather/land manipulation.
((WIP. More abilities to be added as her story calls for them.))
Apparel & Accessories
While she was on her own, Zora didn't care much for clothing. There weren't chances to easily obtain it, and it wasn't like modesty mattered much in the sands of Hueco Mundo. She'd just as soon go without clothes, and since she spent the majority of her time in her release form, she often did. While she was human, though, the most Zora ever bothered with was a large scrap of tattered, grey cloth, tied around her body in the most simple imitation of a dress. Once she joins Las Noches, though, her outfit drastically changes. Zora's uniform consists of an ankle length, white dress with a slit up to her hip, black lining on the skirt and sleeves, long, full sleeves, and a low, v-shaped neckline. A collar of grey fur, a silver, low hanging belt, a silver circlet that accents her mask fragment, and black, flat slippers make up the rest of her outfit. When in this outfit, she often wears her hair in a low braid.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Zora was born in a small village in Russia in the early to mid 1200's. She lived a life of poverty and need, and always wanted for food, shelter, or safety. She had only a single mother, her father having been killed before her birth, and the two of them were at the very bottom of their village. Despite being a large child, Zora was frequently abused and picked on by other members of the village. Zora suffered rape on many accounts while growing up, thanks to there being no one who would protect her. She was an angry, dissatisfied child, and always looked upwards at the people who had more. Much of her time was spent by herself, learning how to protect herself and what she had to do to stay alive.
When she was fourteen, though, this all changed. When a village man tried to force himself on her once more, Zora, finally so angry that she could hold it in no longer, snapped. She beat the man to death with a large stone, and the resulting scene was the bloodiest her tiny village had ever known. Zora was quickly caught, and, despite her mother's pleas, was ordered to be executed. Zora herself promised that the village would let her go, or every one of them would die. She bit off the ear of the man who tried to hold her, fractured another's skull by throwing her stone, and by that point, the village simply wanted the so called "demon child" gone. They released her under the condition that her mother would suffer in her stead, and Zora, seemingly possessed by the rage that had been filling her for years, claimed that she'd happily damn her mother in her stead, so long as she went free.
From there, Zora wandered by herself. She lived in the wilderness for a long time, stealing whatever she could get her hands on to eat. She soon learned how to mug and kill travelers, beating them to death just the same as she had her first victim. She lived off of the possessions of others, and once she accumulated a few reliable weapons, she began to raid small villages similar to her own, where the people were rarely armed, and always frightened of the wild girl with a blade.
She lived like this until she was in her twenties, slowly making her way towards bigger cities. Along her way, Zora accumulated something of a following, mostly comprised of law-breakers who had nowhere else to go. Zora would accept anyone who would aid her, and, as she'd grown only stronger and more experienced from her time killing and plundering, she knew well that she could stand up for herself. Amongst the group was a man named Viktor, who tried more than anyone to gain Zora's favor. He was strong and reliable, and Zora eventually accepted him in her own way, allowing him to be something of a second in command to her rule.
Zora herself remained cold-hearted and empty. She was a bloodthirsty woman who lived only for what she could gain, always reaching upwards to have more and more. She wanted more power, more influence, more weapons and more blood on her hands. Her attacks spread across the country over the years, as she was always on the move in search of something greater.
Eventually, when Zora's group had become sizable, she made contact with the Mongols who had been invading Russia. Zora herself was around twenty-eight at the time. The Mongols, whose goal was to do as much damage to Russia as they could, made an offer to the violent woman before them. In exchange for her continued attacks, they'd help fund her crusade of bloodshed, finally giving her the power that she'd always longed for. Zora happily accepted, delighted to have both power and more chances to kill at her disposal.
However, Zora's reign didn't last forever, and when she was thirty-two, she was finally captured by a part of the the Russian military. Tried for treason and mass murder, Zora was decided to be executed, just like the village of her youth had tried. This time, though, Zora wasn't facing a small village, barely armed and in fear of a little girl. She was finally, truly, over her head. The rest of her band that had been captured were killed, all of them in front of their leader, under the assumption that she'd feel some despair or fear upon witnessing the death of her company. Zora, however, didn't appear to be phased. Viktor was missing from the executions, and that alone was a sign to her that she'd win, that her legacy would continue even after her death. There was little care in her heart for the rest of her group to begin with, and their deaths didn't hurt her.
And then, it was time for Zora herself to die. Zora was crucified in the traditional fashion; beaten, made to carry her cross, strung up by her hand and ankles to die a slow and painful death. No matter how much pain she was in, though, the smile never left her face, the fury never left her eyes. At least, until she saw a certain face emerge from the crowd.
Viktor, dressed in Russian finery, walking alongside the same men who had captured her. Even dizzy with blood loss and in so much pain she could barely breathe, Zora made the connection. There was a reason why she'd been captured so easily. She'd been betrayed. Viktor climbed the stage of Zora's execution, stood beside her one final time, smiling like he'd never hurt her, and with one smooth motion, slit Zora's throat with his personal dagger.
Zora was dead in minutes, choking on her own blood. However, her spirit stuck around out of sheer fury and the refusal to leave the world in such a way. She went through the Hollowfication process rapidly, her own rage speeding through what would normally take a Hollow months or years. Even when the sould she devoured tried to take control, Zora's powerful nature kept her in power. She evolved rapidly, becoming easily the most power Hollow in Hueco Mundo. Out of sheer boredom with the new world around her, she buried herself in the sand, not to be seen again, at least, until a certain dragon emerged.

Education
Zora has had absolutely no formal education. Her mother taught her what she needed to know, and Zora figured out anything else that she needed to survive either on her own or from members of her group. While she's very intelligent, she's mostly illiterate. When she was a human, Viktor taught her quite a bit. However, it's not like knowledge acquired in 1200's Russia is exactly reliable for the world she's now in. Her mind is sharp, though, and she's very gifted when it comes to strategy, battle plans, and figuring out how to survive.
Employment
Zora has only ever been self-employed. Her job, as mentioned in her bio, was killing and plundering, stealing from others to make herself stronger. She's never worked a real job, and as a woman in the medieval era, it's unlikely that she ever would have had much of one beyond "housewife", even if her life had been normal. If she'd had a choice, Zora thinks she would have liked to be a scholar, someone on the search for knowledge groundbreaking to mankind, and the first to witness some of the exciting things that the world has to offer. However, as she's thousands of years old, dead, and stuck in Hueco Mundo, she has no false hopes of actually being able to accomplish any of this.
Accomplishments & Achievements
In Zora's opinion, her greatest accomplishments have to do with her kills. She considers the first man she killed to be her life's greatest turning point, and she's endlessly proud of herself for finally standing up to a world that only pushed her down. Generally, Zora shows a lot of pride regarding her actions-- with results to back it up. She's an intelligent, powerful woman who lived as one of Russia's greatest warriors, and she's far from humble about anything she's accomplished. Her kill count is impossible to name, and her group was a true threat to Russia in the time she was alive. However, aside from violence, Zora really doesn't have a single achievement to her name. She was never able to live for anything but killing, and her history is void of anything truly valuable.
Failures & Embarrassments
To Zora, her greatest failure was being captured and killed. She's well aware that she had it coming, but the indignity of being strung up like a common criminal will always leave her angry. She despises being looked down on in any way, and hates being held back from what she wants even more. Zora knows that her actions are abhorrent, and that she deserves nothing but death for what she does, but she still takes every little setback personally, fighting tooth and nail to eliminate anyone or anything that tries to stand in the way of her success. She can't stand failure and despises being restrained or embarrassed in any way. Zora would never admit it, even to herself, but she considers Viktor's betrayal to be a personal failure on her part; her own fault for not seeing it sooner, for not truly winning his loyalty.
Mental Trauma
Although she hides it well, Zora is extremely traumatized. As a human, her formative years involved her being a victim of violent, repeated sexual assault. She grew up always worrying where her next meal would come from. She lived a life of violence and pain, saw horrors that would have broken most humans. As a Hollow, she spent thousands of years in isolation, too bored with the rest of the population to try to interact. Deep, deep inside, Zora is a sad, broken person who doesn't know how to function as anything but a killer. Her personality is an endless series of contrasts, and she's never been able to find anything resembling true peace. She envies those who are happy, and, no matter how powerful she becomes, she will always resent those who are better off than she's always been.
Intellectual Characteristics
Zora is very, very intelligent. Her intelligence is not in book smarts, though. She's a strategist, a planner, and a problem solver who can tackle almost any challenge thrown her way. When it comes to thinking her way out of a bad situation, or turning the tides of battle in her favor, Zora is exceptional. Her people smarts are also very good. She's skilled at knowing just what to say and do to make people break, and while she often seems to be too absorbed in herself to care what others think, she's actually very perceptive and aware. Her book smarts are abysmal, though, and when it comes to solid, right or wrong questions, she's far below average.
Morality & Philosophy
Zora's morality is a complex, treacherous subject. First and foremost, she believes that the strongest survive, and that those strongest make the rules for the weak to live by. She's well aware that the things she does are terrible, and she actively believes that she should die for what she's done in her life. At the same time, though, she's a stubborn, resilient person who desires freedom above all else, and she refuses to die unless she finds something strong enough to put her down in an entertaining way. She'll cut down anyone who she thinks is weak, toy with others without a moment of hesitation, and kill anyone who stands in her way. However, deep, deep inside, Zora understands that what she does is wrong. Her philosophy is that she'll do what she wants until something stronger than her forces her to stop. She believes in freedom and excitement, and lives in a way that she thinks will make her happy, regardless of if what she does can be considered "good" or "bad".
Taboos
Zora has no real taboos in her behavior. She sees no problems with killing, betrayal, torture, or any number of other horrible things she could inflict on another person. As a Hollow, she has no reason to fear immoral actions, and can and will do as she pleases to anyone too weak to stop her-- which is very nearly everyone. However, due to her childhood experiences, she's actually rather sensitive when it comes to rape. She'll be extra cruel to men who try to force themselves on women, and while no one dares to act in such a way towards her anymore, she still holds a certain resentment for the act. She'd never, never admit it, but the idea of rape makes her genuinely uncomfortable.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Zora's main motivation is entertainment. In her human life, she was driven by a desire for power, a desire to be something other than the lowest of the low. She loves her own strength, however, since becoming a Hollow, she's more or less lost the drive to get any more powerful. As a Hollow, now stronger than anything that could challenge her, Zora seeks entertainment. She's become bored with living, with existence, and now wants to be entertained above all else. She'll do almost anything if she thinks it will be fun, but avoids anything that she sees as boring; even going so far as to stay hidden in the sands for thousands of years. Zora is well aware that her second and final death is coming, but she's no longer afraid. She deserves to be dead, and all she'll do to interfere with that is make sure that the way she goes out is every bit as fantastic as she lived.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
Zora's best skill is combat. She's a formidable fighter, superb strategist, and an all around terrifying threat when it comes to battle. She's strong, and has been since her human life, and thanks to a combination of natural aptitude and trained skill, she's become exceptional at the art of ending lives. Reading people is another skill of hers, and she's excellent at judging a person's intentions through their behavior. However, Zora is also emotionally stunted, poor at controlling herself, and generally terrible at anything that doesn't somehow involve murder. Aside from Viktor's teachings, she never learned anything but how to fight, and it shows. If she was still human, she'd barely know how to take care of herself if killing was off the table. The only way she knows how to get what she wants is violence, and her interpersonal skills are downright atrocious.
Likes & Dislikes
Zora likes power, wealth, entertainment, and interesting people. She dislikes failure, boredom, being forced to do anything, and people who don't obey her. She's grown up longing for power and wealth, and while these priorities have dropped significantly since becoming a Hollow, she still loves the finer things in life. She can occasionally be bribed with nice things, but she's just as likely to take the bribe and do what she wants anyway. Zora loves anything that she sees as fun, and will go to dangerous lengths to gain the entertainment that she seeks. People who interest her have a much better chance of surviving an encounter, however, she'll go out of her way to "have fun" with those people that do catch her attention. Zora hates feeling powerless in any way. Failure annoys her beyond measure, and she can't stand to be told what to do in any way. She expects others to obey her, and she won't hesitate to use her strength to make sure that that's exactly what happens. She despises boredom, and would sooner do something painful than allow herself to be bored.
Virtues & Personality perks
Zora is amazingly resilient. She's as strong-willed as anyone can be, and possesses as remarkable ability to endure any amount of struggle that the world throws at her, only coming out stronger in the end. She's survived things that would break an average person. Zora is free-spirited and determined, with a powerful, dynamic personality, natural independence, and a love of having fun. She's proud and intense, loves to try new things, and faces every challenge with the attitude that she'll win in the end. Zora is a survivor. Her personality is blunt and straightforward.
Vices & Personality flaws
Zora is violent, mean, and bordering on sadistic. She's harsh and rude, and will not mince words to spare anyone's feelings. She's stubborn and arrogant, with an attitude that, because she's strong, she's superior to the world around her. She looks down on anyone who's weaker than her, tormenting anyone that she finds enjoyment in making miserable, and won't hesitate to cut down those who she thinks deserve it. Zora is a hateful, envious person who resents anyone who's happier than her. She's viciously jealous, and refuses to allow herself to be below anyone. She's got a short temper and violent tendencies, and actively enjoys hurting and terrorizing anyone that she'll get an interesting reaction from. She's passively suicidal, believing that she should be dead for what she does, but at the same time accepting her fate and continuing to live in a way that only hurts others.
Personality Quirks
Zora tends to pick at her hands, especially her Hollow hole. She often scratches at her throat as well, but much more violently. Both of these tics can and do lead to her drawing blood. When she's trying to be intimidating, she lazes around, intentionally making herself appear relaxed, and she gets in people's personal space, pushing boundaries and making them uncomfortable. She often smiles and laughs, but neither gesture has much joy in it. Zora's laugh is low and condescending, sounding more vicious than amused. When she's truly, genuinely upset, her jaw twitches almost unnoticeably, and she'll scratch at her skin until she bleeds. She messes with her hair when she's bored, and can spend hours braiding and unbraiding it. This was something she often did as a child, and the habit has never died. Similarly, she prefers to sleep on the ground to a bed, and will actively choose to sleep on the floor whenever possible.
Hygiene
As a Hollow, Zora is honestly sort of gross. Hueco Mundo doesn't exactly have bathing facilities, and she's often rather bloody from killing other Hollows who wander too close. Zora's hair is messy and tangled, hanging to her ankles in half-matted waves. Her clothing, if she bothers with it, is bloodstained and covered in sand. As a human, her hygiene wasn't ideal either, as a life of raiding and killing didn't leave many chances to stay clean. She probably hasn't had a real bath in her life, and has had to make do with cleaning herself in rivers and lakes in her human life, and ceasing to care once she became a Hollow.
Social
Family Ties
The only family member Zora ever knew was her mother. Her mother was, on the surface, a kind woman. However, like many people who have had nothing, she only lived for herself. While she did love Zora, she also understood that sticking her neck out for her daughter's sake was impossible, and often left the girl to poor situations when intervening would have caused more trouble than letting it happen. However, when the village tried to execute Zora, her mother didn't simply stand by and let her daughter die. She begged for Zora's life, and Zora repaid her by, in turn, leaving her mother to her fate. Zora's own view of her mother is that she was a useless person who was too cowardly to rise above their lives. She resents her mother for leaving her to a cruel world, but at the same time, believes that it was that abandonment that allowed her to reach her breaking point-- thus gaining the power that she always longed for.
Social Aptitude
Zora tends towards the arrogant when interacting with others. She knows that she's stronger than anything she could come across, and she acts like it. She's blunt and harsh, and will cut down anyone who she thinks deserves it-- either with words, or violence. While playful and typically casual, she has a short, nasty temper, and rarely tolerates anyone for very long. Zora loves to toy with people, and getting entertaining reactions out of others, especially those who are stoic or proud, is one of her favorite things to do. She's gifted at reading people, and tends to know the best ways to tear apart someone's self esteem. Her attitude is always confident, and she approaches others in a way that commands respect and awe.
Mannerisms
Zora's mannerisms are typically very casual. She holds herself proudly, and while she is very graceful, she often chooses to drape her long body around and laze like an over-sized cat. She tends to get into people's personal space, and will often lean in too close, move people with a hand on their shoulders, or use her impressive height to intimidate. Zora isn't hesitant at all about being touchy with others. Some of her go-to methods for intimidating include placing a hand on her victim's throat, petting their hair, or crowding so far into their space that they have to step back. Her way of carrying herself is generally lazy and relaxed, while still maintaining an obvious air of dignity. Her body is long and would seem awkward, but when she moves, she's very graceful and coordinated. She always makes direct eye contact with people, and will practically stare down anyone who she speaks with.
Hobbies & Pets
Zora's main hobby since becoming a Hollow is seeking out interesting things. She likes people and things that are new and exciting, and tends to be very social. She doesn't often consume other Hollows, but when she does, she toys with them like a cat with a mouse, prolonging their suffering for her own entertainment. If anything wanders too close to where she sleeps, she likes to tear off their limbs, watch them struggle and bleed into the sand, and only bother with killing them once they've nearly already died of fear. As a human, she enjoyed fighting and strategy as hobbies. She didn't do much that wasn't focused around the art of killing, but she learned to love the act of holding someone's life in her hands. As both a human and a Hollow, she had a love of toying with anyone who entertained her.
Speech
Zora's voice is rather low. She has a slight Russian accent, most notable on her vowels. Her speech is fluid and lazy, drawling over words and often slipping into sing-song tones. She doesn't use many large words, as she's actually rather poorly educated. She only uses words that she's sure she knows, and never tries to guess at meanings. Most often, she speaks rather slowly, drawing things out just to make people uncomfortable. Zora tends to ask a lot of questions, but in the way that makes it very clear that she's actually giving an order. For example, asking someone if they think they should retrieve an object, when it's obvious that she'll react violently if they don't.
Wealth & Financial state
As a human, Zora was born in the poorest of social classes. She never had enough food, proper shelter, or even suitable clothes. It was only once she became an adult that she was able to gain the kind of wealth she'd dreamed of as a child. By her mid-twenties, Zora was quite affluent, at least on a personal level, thanks to what she'd stolen from others. She's fond of fine things, and had a particular tendency to keep fine clothing, jewelry, and food from her victims for herself. As a Hollow, she's had very little reason to care about physical wealth. There aren't money or goods in the endless sand of Hueco Mundo, and she's spent the last thousands of years without so much as attempting to seek out new wealth. Zora understands that she's not going to find anything in that world.
