Artefact of Transformation

A high elf relic imbuing a great warrior with another's power

Sometimes, when a warrior has proven their skill in battle, they will come across an unassuming amulet or bracer and unthinkingly put it on.   This amulet actually contains the soul of a great high elf paladin or hero fallen before their time, who has chosen to fight on through the mortal warrior. The soul of the elven hero imbues its host with the light and goodness that drove them during life.

Barbarian subclass: Path of Ancient Power

No longer able to fight directly, the spirit of a long-dead warrior has noticed your prowess in battle and imbued you with magical strength. The chosen hero can now transform with blazing light, leading their friends in battle with the might of an ancient power.

Power Form
Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, entering a rage triggers a colourful, heroic transformation sequence that emboldens your allies. When you use your bonus action to enter a rage, creatures of your choice within 15 feet gain temporary HP equal to your Barbarian level.
While raging, you now emit bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light for a further 10 feet.

Power Of Friendship
Your new power is emboldened by the bond you share with your friends. Starting at 3rd level, when an ally within 30 feet of you makes a successful attack roll against an enemy creature, you can use your reaction to mark the enemy creature with a bright light.
The first successful attack roll you land against a marked creature before the end of your next turn deals an additional 1d10 radiant damage, increasing to 1d12 at 9th level and 2d8 at 16th level. Once this damage has been dealt or your next turn ends, the mark is dispelled.

Battle Companion
At 6th level, the Ancient Power also gifts you a trusty battle companion to call upon in times of great need. Once per day, you may cast the Find Steed spell as part of the same bonus action you use to enter your rage. Upon being summoned, the steed gains temporary HP as if affected by your Power Form.
When mounted, you may use your bonus action to command the steed to make an attack. When dismounted, the steed acts on its own initiative as normal. The steed counts as an ally for the purposes of triggering your Power Of Friendship feature.
The steed remains until the end of your rage, at which point it disappears. At 11th level, you may cast Find Greater Steed using this feature instead.

Consult The Ancients
At 10th level, you can tap further into the Ancient Power’s vast reserves of power and knowledge. Augury and Clairvoyance become ritual spells for you, using wisdom as your spellcasting modifier.

Unbroken Bonds
At 14th level, the benefits of your Power Of Friendship mark extend to your allies. You and all allies gain advantage on attack rolls against creatures marked by your Power Of Friendship. Invisible creatures are also outlined by the mark's light, as per the Faerie Fire spell.
If an ally hits the creature before you, they deal the radiant damage instead. Once the creature has been hit and the damage is dealt, the mark is dispelled as usual.
