Character Creation

Hidden Paths to Chaos allows any of the standard player character classes, subclasses, and options for the 5th edition roleplaying rules. However, some are a better fit for both the historical and folkloric context of the setting. Players can still pick more "exotic" options for their characters, as long as players and game masters keep the following in mind:
Player characters are exceptional.
By definition, they are set apart from other people and do not follow the same rules. Thus, even if the GM determines that there are only a handful of people with "druidic" powers or no other people who could be considered "sorcerers" in terms of the 5th edition rules, players can still pick either of these as class options with the GM's permission - though this means they might be viewed with suspicion by other people, who lack the context to understand their abilities. The player and the GM should work together to develop a background and an explanation for their abilities that fit the campaign and do not detract from the enjoyment of the campaign as a whole.
