Warden Beckett

The Warden of Tartarus

Description

Warden Adrienne Beckett appears to be a human woman in her late 40s or early 50s. She is never seen outside of formal dress as she marches down the halls of Tartarus. Ever part of her attire is immaculate. Her hair, outfit, and accessories are always clean and pressed. Though her facial features are sharp and conventionally attractive, those that meet her are often unable to recall them, instead remembering only the piercing look of her purple eyes that burrowed into them. She is also never seen without her walking cane. She does not require it to walk, using it instead to tap away at the ground in front of her. With the quietness of the priests that populate the prison, the tapping of the cane can be heard through entire wings, prisoner's knowing that the louder the tapping gets, so does their doom.

History

Nothing is known about Warden Beckett prior to her tenure at Tartarus. Where she came from, who her family is, or how she became warden are all mysteries to everyone except the person who put her in charge of Tartarus, Ra. Before her, Tartarus operated without a warden for centuries, but one day she just appeared with the priests following her orders with no hesitation.    For the last decade she has ruled Tartarus with an iron fist with almost complete autonomy, with the only exception being the occasional order from Ra to extradite a prison to the Tower of Souls. During her tenure the already notorious prison has garnered an even more nefarious reputation, going from a place of oppression to a place of nightmares.

Personality

Warden Beckett always exudes an aura of cold calculation. She never screams, nor yells. In her prison, nothing is outside of her control. When she enters a room, prisoners may begin to shiver as the hope and warmth bleed from their body as if from an open wound. She appears to live a largely solitary life, rarely leaving the prison and interacting with prisoners on a personal level even once, but she does not seem lonely. Instead, she seems to thrive from it.
