Pandom

The large red moon that orbits the world is the remnants of a separate world that has been able to anchor its reality to Heroda. Pandoms attachment to the Great Wheel came before it found itself orbiting Heroda.   A dark red, blasted world it is covered in desert with incredibly deep canyons crossing its surface like cracks in an egg. Thick grey forests are found in many of these canyons and there are also deep running rivers that flow here. There is a band of dark ocean covering almost all of the equator, Islands peppering the surface like grains of spice.   Its former inhabitants were a race of slim, giant humanoids who called themselves the Raxus.   As the worlds reality slowly decayed, the desperate inhabitants split into multiple factions who fought against each other as well as working to try to find a solution to their worlds destruction. Two of the largest factions came to similar though still devastating ideas, they sacrificed millions of their kind to force open connections to the inner planes.   Unfortunately this connection was formed near the bottom of the River Styx, letting out a deluge of mind destroying water that soon covered the equator of the world in an enormous ocean. That portal still stands to this day, forming the only concrete and permanent connection to the planes from within Herodas sphere of reality. Thankfully for Heroda, this portal is next to useless for most fiends as they could not brave the mind altering effects of the river Styx though the ocean has become an abyssal playground rife with those demonic creatures that DO find the rivers properties palatable or irrelevant.   The ocean washed over most of the Raxus civilization, driving the remnants into the harsher now continents of the north and south while the newly created Mindless Ocean covered the entirety of the equatorial middle of Pandom. The influence of the Styxian portal as well as the river itself slowly created just enough corruption to the world that portals to the lower planes will open at random around Pandom, allowing the curious or opportunistic denizens of that plane to pour through for as long as the portal is stable.   In this way, hordes of demons and legions of devils have made their way to Pandom as well as other denizens like Yugaloths and hags. These creatures have an easier time reaching Heroda and the Spheres than they would normally, if Heroda were a world on the Material Plane.   Pandom soon became another front in the eternal blood war with the Raxus trapped between them, either conscripted into the fight or forced to eke out an existence in the deepest wilds or the most hidden depths. Full blooded Raxus are rare where Cambion and Tiefling varients are the norm.   The war and the presence of Fiendish corruption creates an influence on the world of Heroda, one that has been felt since it first appeared in the skies and is only tempered by the existence of Seles. The world of Pandom is not a part of Herodas natural order regarding where Souls go when mortals die, forcing the denizens of the world who require such things to actively hunt and search for them to bolster their ranks. Because of this, Raxus and corrupted mortals from Heroda and Seles are found in greater numbers and the state of the war is as much a stalemate is it is in the lower planes.   Due to the more malleable reality here, gods of Neutrality, evil, chaos and Law make realms here.

Raxus

A race of somber, slim giant humanoids who called themselves the Raxus are the original inhabitants of the world of Pandom, long before it found its home in orbit around the world of Heroda.
