The Edge

Somewhere beyond the horizon, lays the end of all things; a place where a black slate cuts against the sky, and the land itself stops, fading into a wall of ever-black nothingness. This terrifying place, is the edge of all existence- a void where all things end, and our world begins. Few know what lies beyond the edge, if anything; save for the Traveller Gods, voyaging out in search of new lands.
Few believe in the Edge, saying it is mere simple myth. Most people will never find the Edge, even if looking for it, so long as they don't truly believe it exists- they would just find endless lands stretching out before them, the world expanding forever to keep them away. Those that believe in the Edge, they will find it- and it will always remain out of reach, for them. They will see it over the horizon, but never will they come to the end. Then there's the small handful of individuals that know the Edge is the end of all things, where all things stop- those precious few who have lain their hands upon the end, and felt the nothingness of the wall of black.
But there are those that know the true nature of the Edge, that hold the secret of it's purpose- for it is not the end of all things, but merely an empty space. There is no stop, merely nothing left to go to. And so they step out beyond the end, into the endless void, and are gifted an endless empty canvas, with which to make a world all their own, a pocket of the universe all to their own design. Such individuals are akin to Gods Mahyaps this secret is how our own gods came upon the world? I doubt anyone remembers.
