The party decides to attempt to make some coin out of their predicament by setting up a competition to end the storms.

After their first foray into the wilderness, the party finds out more information on the mysterious towers from Mellek Planeseeker. Gilduir then goads the party into setting up a competition to get several groups of adventurers competing to end the storms for a gold jackpot. They spend the next moon cycle recruiting teams from the Thieves Guild and the Order of the Ancient Blade. During this month, they party gathered bears and forced the local prison to hold them in the cells, causing all sorts of problems. Additionally, Gilduir thinks he was followed and threatened my a mysterious organization that seem to be at odds with his goals, the very same organization that had Slag and Quill kidnapped and almost had them captured for good had it not been for the interference of a Dwarven cleric who was investigating sounds of a commotion under the great Temple. While waiting to reconvene with Gilduir to tell him what happened, Slag over hears talk of giants nearby and sprints into action in pursuit of the rumor with quill on his heels. The pair investigates the mountains for a lead and came across a patch of mountainside with stone limbs and torsos of ancient explorers who fell victim to a basilisk which the pair vanquished. They the traveled on to discover the fallen body of a fire giant, then further on the trail, into the mountain pass, two more fire giant bodies and a trail of blood leading into a ravine. There Slag found the fallen body of a great cloud giant warrior who bared the markings of the giant clan that cared for him as a child. While they investigated his remains quill got taken by a mountain troll and almost died yet again had it not been for an incredible act of heroism by slag, crippling the beast enough for quill to finish it off. They found a note pertaining to the cloud giant clan's whereabouts, but alas were not sufficiently equipped to tackle the indomitable Skymeld so they returned to the city seeking clues and waiting to reconvene with Gilduir to share news of their happenings.
