Quest: A Mount for Sesh

BULLET POINTS: The party each are visited by a hawk that delivers them a lettter telling them to head to the The Library of Thoth to recieve information on their next quest. -There they see Seshat Retti researching and Thylos os standing nearby impatiently. Once they've all gathered, he explains that he is the head librarian of Heka and personally maintains and oversees the libraries entire collection. Sesh chimes in and states that this is really more of a quest for her! She just doesn't have as much sway with Rane as thylos does.
  • She explains that since she travels for research a LOT, she's been on a hunt for the fastest way to travel the dunes- and she thinks she has a lead!
  • -She tells them that there's a species called the duneskimmers that burrow and glide thru the desert- she wants them to go observe and maybe even bring her one back, if they can! -The party is then freed out into the deserts. There's a few ways to get there, but it's really up to them how they accomplish it. -They can take the river up, where they may pass thru more villages and shit, or they can do the desert and potentially run into bandits, traders, etc. -

    Structure

    Exposition

The party each are visited by a hawk that delivers them a lettter telling them to head to the The Library of Thoth to recieve information on their next quest. -There they see Seshat Retti esh researching and Thylos standing nearby impatiently. Once they've all gathered, he explains that he is the head librarian of Heka and personally maintains and oversees the libraries entire collection. Sesh chimes in and states that this is really more of a quest for her! She just doesn't have as much sway with Rane as thylos does.

    Conflict

  • She explains that since she travels for research a LOT, she's been on a hunt for the fastest way to travel the dunes- and she thinks she has a lead!
  • -She tells them that there's a species called the Duneskimmers or landsharks that burrow and glide thru the desert- she wants them to go observe and maybe even bring her one back, if they can! They gather in the southern borders of Sap'Meh -She says they may be a little dangerous, but nothing the party can't handle. They like to burrow in the dunes, and are attracted to noise- loud sounds should get their attention!

    Rising Action

-The party is then freed out into the deserts. There's a few ways to get there, but it's really up to them how they accomplish it. -They can take the river up, where they may pass thru more villages and shit, or they can do the desert and potentially run into bandits, traders, etc. A few diff things can happen: CLOSE TO THE BASE: Sticking near the river, they run thru a larger looking town named Fern , a town perched on a rockier area of the river that actually has a lot of trees and shit in it? Seems to house a druid population. They can also potentially run into a bandit group further down on the river, depending on my vibes. Further into the desert, they could run into The Horned Wanderer if I roll under a 25% on a percentile dice roll. Make some rolls to see if they can navigate- if they get lost, they may run into a group of travelling merchants who can guide them and perhaps trade? Eventually they see a dark stormcloud hovering in the distance, thunder slowling rolling off of it ever few minutes.

    Climax

They approach the southern edge of Sap'meh, where they see a hugeass stretch of dunes that's being constantly struck by thunder. If they travel in far enough and make loud enough sounds, they'll attract a duneskimmer! Ensue a scuffle and attempts to get it, or whatever. -No matter what happens, I want them to roll a perception check! On a 15 or higher, they notice a dark shape soaring thru the clouds. 18 or higher, they see a smaller shape next to it. 20 or higher, they KNOW that shits a dragon. Hide, run, wait for it to pass- whatever they do, don't get it's attention.

    Falling Action

Whatever happens with the mounts and dragons, they probably(?) return home. If successful, sesh rewards them each 100 gold! Unssuccesful, 50 and she thanks them anyways.
