Background Plot: Betrayal of an Archfey

Ault, a high ranking court member in the city of Iris was killed by Ace.   The Ogdoad: The archfey leaders of the city of Iris. Each have equal control over the city- they make decisions via voting and discussion. Members:   Countess Sye - Icon of the god Isis. Once a spirit of the beautifully dangerous Glass Sea, she rose in power until eventually ascending to the ranks of archfey. Quiet, kind, and humble.   Prince of Roses - An incredibly powerful dryad archfey and the most intelligent of the Ogdoad, often to a fault. Beautiful but scathingly honest and perceptive.   Seethe - An eladrin with a hot temper and a fiery appearance. Likes to start fights, but is often the best at coming to a compromise.   Rit of the Meadow - A satyr known for his trickery and ability to charm any he speaks with- a bard so powerful that he was able to ascend to the rank of archfey.   Hiskel - A Couatl that slipped through the veil between the celestial plane and the feywild. Devoted to good and justice.   Lord Fang - A lycanthrope who likes to party hard. Runs most of the events in the city of Iris, and has gained such a large pack that he’s probably the most powerful lycanthrope in the feywild.   Haze - An amethyst dragon and the oldest member of the Ogdoad. Gem dragons are mostly extinct in the material plane, but many still make their homes in the feywild.   Ace: Replacement of Squall. Established himself as a powerful adventurer in the years before the murder, so was easily able to get promoted to a member of the Ogdoad. Witty elven man.   ACTUAL PLOT SHIT: Rane tells the party that Countess Sye in the Feywild needs their help to root out someone who attacked them during the shadowfell attacks. They were incredibly fast and manages to slip into her room and knock her out cold before she could respond. Since then she's been cut off from her goddess, Iris, and has lost most of her power. She wants them to investigate around and speak to the other Ogdoad members.   All of them seem to notice that Hiskel had been acting strange for the weeks leading up to the attacks. Prince and Haze notice this especially closely, mentioning that he seemed to be more snappy than usual. However, Hiskel insists they're innoccent and hasn't done anything. In truth, Ace has been charming Hiskel to make them seem more suspicious.
