Tidal Beast

Write about an old ship that's still in use. Why is it still active?   One of the first marvels of humanity built, the Tidal Beast was a feat of engineering designed to pierce that dark and mysterious fog that cradled the world. To go beyond and see what it seemed the gods did not want humanity to bear witness to. With fine sales made of silk and pearl skins, imbued with slight magics to endure any storms out on seas. Humans made these ships in order to traverse through the silver fogs and hope to penetrate the mysteries of them, uncover just what it was that enveloped their world. The Tidal Beast endured many ventures to the very limits and is one of the only ships to go so far and still return even to date. It is because of those pushes through to the brink that humanity was able to explore as much as it has and learn what it does about the cursed lands. Every year on August 27th it made a trip around the world's seas and stationed in the large city capital harbors allowing civilians to board and explore its vast size. This holiday worldwide would include large stalls of various food, games to play for miniature versions of the vessel (albeit rigged) and live music. A one day festival in celebration of the corners of the world the Tidal Beast shed light on for all of humanity. The Beast is maintained to a perfect degree by three teams of crew on board the ship itself, as well as a crew at each main port in case of emergencies to tend to any issues. Because of the devotion to her upkeep she is able to continue to run and over the years when parts needed replacing, no money was too much to spare to ensure the Tidal Beast endured.  While she is used a bit less frequently now, as new technology has been created and the goals of humanity now are to not just observe the fog but find its cause and destroy it, she can still be seen doing her laborious routes across the world's waters.
