Echantè

Course there’s the age old non-pointy eared bastards. They of course gotta take it slow, but believe in their manifest destiny. Current kingdom intact, and they send off ships to take up tiny bits of land one at a time. But hey, at least they understand that they have to leave the main continent.   The Echantè though, they got this nasty habit of making deals with the new settlements though. Put in trade deals, sneak in, and make contracts scooping up the towns into their empire. And then when the land is theirs, they tack on the taxes too, squeeze em dry. Like they had that much in the first place.

Norak The Traveler
Sprawling across the globe, this species is one of the most prolific of the intelligent kind to inhabit the lands. Present in all three kingdoms on Aintalami , and holding the most land in the The Heathenlands , they are a force to be reckoned with.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Echantè are a bipedal, two-armed species with a main torso section and a head. Humanoid is accurate in describing how they would look, with all of the main muscular and bone structure and fat desposits that the average human would have, though the amount of muscle mass differs with ethnicity.

Biological Traits

No two Echantè are alike, whether it's their height, build, skin color, or personality. Between them they can range in heights from 4 to 7 feet tall, weight anywhere from 100 to 300 pounds, and their professions and aspirations reach the sky in their limits. Scientists, survivalists, priests, and supernatural theorists. They can find a place anywhere in the world, doing absolutely everything.

Naming Traditions

Names are given by the parents of the Echantè, typically forms of words that mean or represent something meaningful to the parents or family. In addition, a surname is carried down family lines with pride, and if the family is stripped of respect, an Echantè can sometimes give themselves a new surname to grow distance from disgraced lineage.

Major Language Groups and Dialects

Each Kingdom has their own favorited names at any given point in time, and they all have variations on the language as well. More than just a split in dialect, the Echantè have three distinct languages to their name. Though it may be possible to follow part of a conversation when listening to another region's dialect, speaking is an instant giveaway of origin. Echanti comes in the form of Arcadian, Galthrondi, and Dorian.

Common Etiquette Rules

Though primative in their natural forms, their quick wit can be all they need to be a part of society. Echantè have found themselves staples of society among the Fey and the Malkine as if they had lived together since the dawn of time. They are quick learners and adapt to fit a situation so that they don't stick out like a sore thumb.   Every Echantè handles confrontation differently, and they are hard to predict to say the least. If pressured, they could back down, beg, run, or even beat their chest and challenge. Anything could happen when in the presence of the Echantè.

Culture and Cultural Heritage

It's no secret that the Echantè tend to travel. In fact, most of the great explorers of the last thousands years have been Echantè. They have this need to find the new in the world, and they tend to dream farther than their feet can take them.   This thirst for knowedge of the outlying worlds also drives every instinct and passion that they have. They are prolific inventors and discovers in all things scientific. They embrace new technology and continuously try to improve upon it, much like gunpowder and the coal engines. Echantè can also be very protective of their new inventions and discoveries, going so far as to be described as stingy or greedy.   In particular, they have a dominance with politics and religion, given their widespread nature and ability to carry culture around like it were coins in their pockets.
