Heartlands Of Lyoness Land of Magic, Opportunity and Adventure

More than 500 years from the current day, the exact date is unknown, the portals were jealously guarded by the Orc’s, Dwarves and Elves, control of these portals often meant control of the area and power within that region. However, the Orc’s were never content to own a share of what they saw as their land and always fought to control Lyoness.   Before Humans, Gnomes, Halflings and Dragonborn came to Lyoness the Dark Blood Orcs had control of most of Lyoness and its portals. The war between the Dark Blood and the alliance between the Elves and Dwarves has never finished, no matter what the Elves or Dwarves did they were eventually slain and driven back. The final battle came on the shores of Elysium, now named Port Silver, with the Alliances defences broken, willpower shattered, hope destroyed, desperately outnumbered and with the last of both of their cultures behind them, they had no choice, surrender meant death, fighting meant death but they were ready.   The Allied armies were on the verge of defeat when the gods intervened, out of a mist of the ocean that had formed over the banks of Elysium stood thousands of humans, Gnomes, Halflings and Dragonborn, they appeared as if from nowhere being lead by a knight on a black stallion wielding a mace.   With the new armies allied together, the Dark Blood retreated back to their land and eventually defeated. but in the last and final charge, the Dark Blood focused their efforts and killed the Kight Michaline Cuthbert.   Recently recovered history suggests he mounted a final charge against the Dark Blood, although he was outnumbered he managed to do something which stopped the war, to this day there is no historical evidence that explains how.   In the year 495 the Dark Blood Rose again, not in the numbers suggested in Lyoness history but it took the confederacy of Guilds to organise countermeasures and the Dark Blood has been pushed back through Tir’s Gap. The war is officially over and Lyoness is slowly getting back to normal, but the wilds of Lyoness is a dangerous place, many people were displaced and driven from their homes, farms ransacked by both sides to feed their armies have left the population angry and as such bandits on the road have become a major issue.   The year is now 500.2.28 of Saint Michaeline Cuthbert, Lyoness is now controlled by no particular race but old alliances agree to come together if the Dark Blood rises once again.   Timeline. 226 BSMC, (Before St M Cuthbert death) the Dark Blood war started.   53 BSMC, St M Cuthbert Turned up on the shores of Elysium.   0 ASMC, (After St M Cuthbert death) St M Cuthbert Dies the war is over.   4 ASMC, Lyoness becomes a Monarchy.   16 ASMC, The Venador family are disposed and killed and the Monarchy comes to an end.   17 ASMC, Lyoness becomes a Confederacy.   17 ASMC, Guild Founding’s.   495 ASMC, Second war begins.   500 ASMC, Second war ends.
