Apostles of the Ardent Rose

Mythology & Lore

The religion centers around several prophecies that have been inter-connected. Several of them have come true, including the Death of of Karkantha'Tharum, the Rebirth of Netheril, the death of Mystra, and the Three Fronts War.   The foremost Myth is one that claims all the true gods have but one soul, that acts independantly of each personality but ultimately works to further the designs of cosmic good upon the world. They claim that the mortal King, Tyr, was the first of the Godseeds, mortal avatars of the One Soul of the gods. They also believe that there will come another, final Godseed, who will come into their power during the 'Wilting of the Aspects' and will ultimately become a new Titan, a god who walks the Earth.   "The seed was planted eons ago, it is up to each Apostle to seek the means of germinating it." The Canticles of Prophesy, Mesi La'Fore's 3rd Chant. "And the divine bodies of the Aspects shall wilt away, their remnants falling unto the earth, becoming fertilizer for the Rose to grow into their fullest self." The Canticles of Prophesy, Dalan Dalann's 4th Chant. "The false Godseeds are not to be embraced, as they are a weed in the garden of prophesy, and so it is right to uproot them. If allowed to flourish and grow, they shall choke out the life of the prophesied Rose." The Canticles of Prophesy, Omar of Dalimli's 12th Chant.   "A child taken and a seed planted in the shade of the morning wood." The Canticles of Prophesy, Mesi La'Fore's 27th Chant. "The child shall be born of human flesh, bearing the soul of a Titan." The Canticles of Prophesy, Dalan Dalann's 109th Chant. "They will have no tutor, but shall speak the Titan's Tongue." The Canticles of Prophesy, Omar of Dalimli's 1st Chant. "They shall greet the shadow of Death as both a treasured friend, and a scornful rival." The Canticles of Prophesy, Omar of Dalimli's 8th Chant.
