Stoneskin
They who take it as a point of pride to strengthen their bodies against the great daily sandstorms. A calloused lot of fearless warriors, they are known as ascetics and tough nuts. Mostly comprised of older men, they all go bald without even eyebrows and adopt a peculiar squint and rubbery looking appearance.
Stoneskin are known as pretty useful mercenaries and are infrequently hired to guard desert outposts, as scouts and reinforcements, though their price is high and they are usually a reluctant lot to do combat as they are mostly just good natured older folk.
Many tourists will marvel at their festivals and shows although for the most part they are just witnessing these men before and after the actual act, they mark these times with chanting, drum music speeches of bravery and feasting.
Structure
There is a little ritual the established members perform to induct new members, but apart from that there is a very loose structure among cells. A treasurer is appointed to manage group funds esp. when dealing with contracts. A small panel of events organizers is usually assembled.
Culture
Idolized for their strength and called upon by other communities in times of need, they live for challenge and never turn down a fight or tough job.
Public Agenda
As safely as possible, let themselves be hardened by the bracing dry sandstorms as often as possible is thier mission.
Assets
What little they hold for the group is mostly used to hold festivals and public events.
History
There are tales from ancient Earth that tell of groups of people who would dunk themselves into icy waters simply for the challenge, the thrill and spectacle. Some of the early explorers of Haven went outside during the sandstorms in full environment suits to experience the sensation of being immersed in the storm. From those early experiments, this tradition slowly emerged.
Military
Skilled in hand to hand and ambush and siege tactics, the occasional band of mercenaries is formed from the ranks of stoneskin.
Religion
Not exactly religious, they do however, he a reverence and respect for the great sandstorms.
