Kobold
Kobolds were created by Greatwyrms, immensely powerful Dragons who felt they needed servants who would worship them without question. The Dragons were not gods however so their creations were far from perfect, instead becoming small, diminutive lizard like creatures with a lack of both strength and intellect. What they did have, was numbers and an undying devotion to their overlords.
Wherever Dragons can be found, Kobolds are not too far. They will serve a Dragon with their lives if they had to, the Dragons barely acknowledging their existence. Still, not being eaten is respect enough from a Dragon. It is possible for Kobolds who grow up elsewhere to become functioning members of society, but studies show that their affinity for serving dragons seems to be an innate quality.
