Elves

One of the earliest races to grace Mayand, Elves were created by Ehlohnna to be the perfect race. Lithe, fast, strong and capable of living centuries sounded good on paper, but being perfect is not perfect. The Elves became cold, cruel to the other races of the world, seeing them as lesser with far worse god given gifts. They are a self centered race of history driven ideologies that isolate themselves from Harodra and the rest of the world in the glens of their Everglade.
Often tall, lithe and sharp featured, Elves are often devoutly religious to their deities. Any way of life not their own is a failure, a waste and not worth their time. What trade the Elves do engage in is out of necessity and a lack of options, but they would usually turn away anybody coming to their shores.
High Elves: (Alfr) The vast majority of Elves in the Everglade are High Elves, all with the pompous nobility one would expect from the richest of the Kingdom’s proprietors. High Elves are snobbish, cruel and uppity to anybody not of their race, earning them a less than stellar reputation.
Wood Elves: (Alfr) Wood Elves are the hunters, the fighters of the Everglade. Physically they are very similar to High Elves, though tend to sport darker hair colours and eyes. They are attuned to nature and the beasts of their lands, stalking through the woods without sound to defend from intruders.
Eladrin: (Alfr) The highest of Elven society, Eladrin have been gifted by nature and the World Tree. They take aweing forms inspired by the seasons of the world, with vibrant colorful skin and hair, often marked with tattoos and inscribings. Eladrin have the propensity to be the most stuck up and cruel of all Elves, though are also surprisingly the most likely to leave the Everglades and explore the world.
Shadar’Kai: (Daudr, Gamall) An odd subrace of Elves, the Shadar’Kai sport Ashen skin tones, dark eyes and black apparel. The Shadar’Kai are worshippers of the Raven Queen and tend not to reside in the Everglades, rather in small isolated settlements all across Harodra. The most well known of these is the town of Screaming Oak. Despite their outward appearance and demeanor, Shadar’Kai are of the more understanding and reasonable Elves.
Sea Elves: (Terrelett Ocean, Alfr) Recognisable for their blue skin, finned ears and the fact that they live underwater, Sea Elves patrol the waters of the Everglades, protecting it from invasive species and creating beautiful coral reefs and underwater forests. Sea Elves are kinder than their land dwelling kin, but are much harder to find and talk to.
Drow: (The Old World) Once a large group of defecting High Elves who believed the world was rightfully the Elves, the Rift Sundering sent them to the deepest parts of the Old World. Rather than starve, the Drow built cities and settlements. Their skin turned grey and their hearts turned cold, as their society became built on a strange matriarchal cruelty. Drow are slavers who will kidnap any creature they find to build their cities and machines, in the hopes one day they can return to the surface and take it over for themselves.
