Baron Uthris Pierstel

Holder of Tonot Keep  for Earl Troda Dariune of Kiban .
Sir Uthris is fond of hunting, fighting, food, drink and women. He is very popular with his soldiers.
The management of his estates is left primarily to his wife Adel. Lady Adel is a reasonably competent administrator, but is limited by the fact that Baron Uthris retains the power of the purse and keeps the privy purse to himself.
The Baron’s soldiers are quite loyal and would quickly report any unusual income or expenditures.
The Baron’s sons, Barryn and Retel are squires at Wharyn manor and Gardiren castle respectively.
Barryn is a hard working, loyal son, who is torn between his mother and his father.
He will soon be knighted. Retel is gaining valuable political lessons from Earl Hemisen Curo of Gardiren, but gets almost no help from his family. He may become a pawn in Earl Curo’s machinations if he is not careful.
Baron Uthris’ daughter, Iana, is very similar to her father in temperament, despite the best efforts of Lady Adel to moderate her daughter’s behavior.
Some among the servants are already dreading her adolescent years.
Baron Uthris’ sister, Olena, is married to his liege, Earl Troda Dariune of Kiban.
Baron Uthris does not get along with his liege due to his indifference to the management of his estates. In contrast, Baron Uthris gets along very well with his nephew Scina, Earl Dariune’s heir, who is a frequent visitor to Tonot for feasts and hunting.
Baron Uthris’ only living cousin on his father’s side, Urila, is married to Baron Churus Londel.
Baron Uthris cannot stand Baron Londel, whom he refers to as a 'foppish manure hauler' during his polite moments.
He has already offered to squire young Keleren Londel to make sure he has the opportunity ‘to be a man.’
The northernmost keep in Kaldor, Tonot, is held by the 46 year old baron Uthris from his liege Earl Dariune.
Uthris considers himself to be the warden of northern Kaldor, and is more interested in hunting and battling the Taelda than actually ruling his fief.
He largely leaves the administration of his estate to his wife Adel, which she runs only half-heartedly. This mismanagement has strained his relationship with the distant Earl Dariune.
The Pierstels have been long-time supporters of clan Dariune, and the Baron’s sister Olena is the wife of the Earl.
Despite the current tensions, Uthris is unlikely to turn his back on his liege, especially if it gives him an opportunity to do what he would like best: to go to war.
Tonot is well positioned to threaten into the heartland of his liege’s rival Earl Hemisen Curo of Gardiren, and is thus an important counterbalance to the strength of Gardiren.
