Baron Osrin Firith

Head of Clan Firith, Baron of Kobing (Baron of Kobe).
Osrin Firith is an energetic and ambitious man.
In addition to his barony, Sir Osrin is the Marshal of Oselmarch and a nephew of King Miginath Elendsa of Kaldor (son of the King's sister Lenera).
He has campaigned vigorously against the Pagaelin and has petitioned King Miginath to build a keep at Oselbridge.
This petition has been denied by the king. The fact that the mercantyler's guild has established a trading post at Oselbridge has irked the Baron somewhat.
The Baron's only surviving child, Sir Prehil, is an alderman in Tashal, residing at the clan's townhouse.
He is married to Shyna Thaelbis, the daughter of the Captain of the High Guard. The Baron's uncle, Garond, is the Serolan of Wythia abbey.
He is a man whose ability to rise within the church has been limited by his brutal honesty. This is in spite of his excellent connections.
The Baron's sister, Lenera, has fared considerably better.
She is currently the Suloran at Caleme. Some think her better suited to the position of Obasaran due to her effectiveness at obtaining donations from visitors.
Lenera's twin, Serli, is married to Baron Karsin Ubael of Uldien. The Baron's brother, Kymen, is bailiff of Qualire manor.
He also has the family trait of ambition, heavily tempered by his cautious reserve.
While he is loyal to Orsin, should Sir Osrin fall to the Pagaelin, (not wholly unlikely – he has already lost an eye) Kymen would certainly present himself as a candidate to the succession council.
The Baron's brother, Asorn, is Lord Advocate. He is a skilled litigant who works hard. He is also a man with an eye for opportunity. Intervening relatives limit his upward mobility through inheritance, so he focuses more on monetary gain. The Baron's youngest sister, Sharosi, died in a Pagaelin ambush at age 14.
Baron Firith loved his baby sister, and his vigor in his campaigns is probably in no small part revenge for his sister's death.
Orsin’s relationship with his uncle the king is somewhat contentious. Orsin aggressively pursues conflict with nearby tribes of Pagaelin, having lost an eye in battle against them three years ago.
He has asked the king for permission to build a keep at Oselbridge, with the support of the local Laranian Reblena (Knight Commander). Miginath does not want to stir up trouble with the southern barbarians, and has so far refused Orsin’s request.
At 46, Orsin is the eldest male descendant of Torastra unencumbered by any oath such as the one binding Conwan.
Orsin is not especially politically astute nor is he favored by the current king, but would be in an good position should Miginath die without a clear heir to the throne.
His command of the army of Oselmarch and his own vassals would given him access to considerable military force, albeit far from the heart of the kingdom.
Motives: Improve his holdings in southern Kaldor. Put himself forward for the throne if there is no clear leading candidate.
