King Yu Jia (Yújiā)

King Yu Jia (a.k.a. Xiao-Taizi Yu)

Yu Jia's father and mother, the previous King and Queen of Fangjiang, were both warriors at heart. They met on the battlefield during a defensive battle against Xucheng where they fell in love. It didn't take long for the previous king to take the woman as his wife and make her the Queen, and it wasn't much longer after that until the Queen was pregnant with a baby boy.   Prince Yu Jia was born outside of battle, but his parents quickly left to fight in the war as well alongside the kingdom's soldiers. Prince Yu Jia was raised by nobles, high-ranking cultivators, and the Imperial Preceptor, Dai Ping. When Prince Yu Jia was 8 years old, his parents were both slain in battle by demons from Xucheng, and Prince Yu Jia had to take their place. Becoming a king at such a young age was both a struggle for the new King Yu Jia and for the people of his kingdom. King Yu Jia was inexperienced and lacked the wisdom of his parents, and his early mistakes earned him the nickname "Xiao-Taizi Yu" as the people's way of denoting King Yu Jia's early crowning and inexperience, and for them to basically call him a prince as a way to say that he wasn't ready for the high position.   However, it only took Xiao-Taizi Yu three years to earn the trust and respect of his people. Not only did he masterfully deal with the problems caused by the massive drought in Fangjiang by slaying a demonic water beast by himself at 10 years old, he managed to fix several problems left by his parents due to their constant absence from the palace. Though he didn't often go to fight on the battlefield, Xiao-Taizi Yu earned respect through other methods, such as proposing the idea of a system that would supply the common people with their everyday needs while also maintaining good finances within the palace. He wasn't a king who would hide from his people either, and he dealt with assassins himself for the most part. Any who dared to oppose him would quickly be put down, and those who stood with him were not only protected but given the opportunity to thrive. All of this earned Xiao-Taizi Yu a great reputation among his people. Even most common folk would go through great trouble to protect him from outsiders.   Today, the nickname "Xiao-Taizi Yu", although mainly used by people from Fangjiang, is used to honor King Yu Jia rather than to ridicule or taunt him. Xiao-Taizi is the youngest ruler out of the royals in all the kingdoms, but he is perhaps the most respected by his people as well.

Relationships

The youngest of the kingdoms' rulers. His father and mother were both killed by demons from Xucheng together on the battlefield, leaving him to be raised by the Imperial Preceptor of his kingdom. However, he also occasionally prevents preople from leaving Fangjiang as well...
